Melo trade was fine it just didn’t work out for a multitude of reasons.

Felton was never as good as he was in his first Knicks stint and found his way back to us. Gallo and Wilson were solid players you would have like to keep as depth pieces but they became very injury prone. Mozgov was nothing special. Out the picks we gave up they came up with Jamal Murray which is nice.

We had Stoudemire, Billups, Fields, Shumpert all have major injuries. It’s just a lot man to that era. We were unlucky. If luck was on our side we would have been a perennial playoff team.

Where is the lie?

If Stoudemire, Billups, Fields, Shump don’t get hurt we don’t even miss them nikkas we traded one bit.
I mean kinda yes but Stat getting hurt was very predictable
That contract was doomed from the start, literally nobody else was gonna give Stat that much money over that many years with his injury history but Knicks were so desperate to get a big FA again they felt like they had to.
I think they were hoping they would get like 3-4 more prime seasons from him before the injuries took a turn for the worse but he was legit flabby year 2 :mjcry:

Stoudemire was a ticking tomb when the Knicks signed him to a five year deal Everybody know he never was gonna stay healthy for the duration of the contract. Billups got amnestied for Chandler so I don't know even why you're talking about him. Fields had the nerve problems similar to Fultz so you have a point with him. Shumpert was all hype :unimpressed:
They decimated their depth and multiple future assets for a player with only the two full years as a top ten player throughout his entire Knicks career. And you also fail to mention how disappointing the latter half of Carmelo's career was. Those teams weren't doing shyt with him as their best player

i dont think he has a bad contract to b honest. i just dont think he fits da team. i think in a secondary or third option on da right team he could work.

Randle's best as a sixth man. He's sucks at playing off the ball and way too inflexible to function on offense without the entire team revolving around him.

This nikka is the top Melo hater all it boils down to :russ:

Fields and Shump alone not getting hurt changes a lot. It would have really alleviated the losses of Gallo and Chandler and those two would go on to be injury prone themselves.

Billups>Felton and like you said we amnestied him and got Tyson.

Amar’e was a ticking time bomb but we hoped for at least a few seasons as an elite PF.

Out of all the picks they hit on Jamal Murray.

That’s not that crazy. If we never did the trade our only hope would have been to hit on the picks because Amar’e was going to get hurt+Gallo and Chandler were going to also start missing tons of games.

Randle works best as a guy off the bench leading the second unit but he’s probably not at that point in his career where he’d accept that role. His ball dominance wouldn’t be as big an issue playing with backups.

Everyone in the world knows the Knicks wanna move the guy, why make it easy? They’d probably have to attach a first or take back a worse contract(probably both) to move Randle this offseason.

Time for the wacky three year Knicks president/gm trade which blows up their so called rebuilding plan. Doesn't matter who Layden, Isiah, Walsh, Grunwald, Phil, Perry and now Rose. Year three of draft pick talk. It trade the young guys time.
