Zion Williamson last time he played has a PER of 27.17 which translates to weak MVP candidate ranking.

Ja Morant had a per of 24.74 last year which translates to definitive All-star.

RJ Barrett in which the fans said was his breakout season PER is 13.72 which translates to below average rotational player

By numbers and analytics RJ should be only making 9-10 million a year so him getting more than double that is a Win
We're using PER to determine what players should get paid? :laff:
Rudy Gobert 8th in the league in PER, guess he deserves that terrible contract everyone thought he got horribly overpaid by Utah with
I mean his PER is better than Ja Morant so that's all that needs to be said :manny:

Gobert is like a top 15-20 player impact wise in the NBA.

These are confusing takes to me.

Is he a solid pg or not?

I doubt anyone is asking or expecting Brunson to be a solid b version of john stockton. He's a solid b version of an offensive minded PG.

But a PG nonetheless.

I'm struggling to see how this Brunson acquisition is a bad decision.

Enlighten me?
Playing next to Luka may or may not have dampened his playmaking numbers. I think that's a make or break aspect of whether this deal turns out really well or just passable. I think that breaks with whether you believe his pick and roll efficacy will carry over from Dallas. Just think about how PnR heavy Thibs' offense is. Dallas ran five out offense though, and Brunson won't have that space to operate in. In other situations, Brunson is more scorer than creator. That said, I think it might take some time...but he's gonna cook.

Except in the playoffs where he can’t guard the perimeter. Though to be fair maybe if the rest of Utah didn’t suck defensively they could hide him.

Utah is capped as a team because they lack perimeter defenders and secondary shot creators. They just aren’t good enough. If they were better it would be harder to exploit Gobert. Most bigs in the NBA if continuously targeted on the perimeter would crumble/be played into a smaller role that’s where the league is with the ball screens and shooting. :manny:

Point is Rudy is a top 20 player in the NBA. Barrett at $25M a season is a huge overpay based on what we’ve seen and there’s a good chance he commands even more.

I'm still trying to figure out how the knicks weren't tampering in the brunson deal when leon rose was his pop's agent and has been close to dude since he was a kid and then all of a sudden the deal is done the first minute of free agency. that's fukking laughable.

It was a huge unethical display of tampering and the Knicks went super hard for a guy that is good but not elite. At this point this needs to work dude cannot be injured and cannot underperform.

Not only is his agent the son of our team president but we also brought in Jalen’s father to be an assistant coach on our team.

Just shows we wouldn’t get this guy off the muscle. If the league voided the signing I would understand.

I'm not trippin about this signing, but this is blatant tampering and the knicks should be forking over a 2nd rounder the same way the bulls did last year for signing zo. and the only reason the bulls got caught is cuz clutch announced the deal the first minute of free agency which put the league on notice :snoop:

The truth must be told.

When I wanted Brunson most Knicks fans didn’t.

Had it been any of our coveted players going to another team in the same manner y’all would be crying too.

There’s a hell of a lot riding on this signing now.
