Mitchell Robinson resigning on a 4year $60 milion deal??

Now this is proper allocation of money

This is a good contract

Jalen Brunson turned down that $55 million extension from the Mavs because he knew the Knicks was gonna come and double that..

If not the Knicks what team would give Brunson $100 million??

Knicks are negotiating against themselves just because Leon Rose likes him and his dad

:mjlol:

Don’t forget Leon Rose’s son is Jalen Brunson’s agent. So it’s in the family’s best interest to get him overpaid.

Knicks front office is run just like most other NY city and state agencies - a bunch of nepotism, handshake deals, looking out for buddies and agendas on the side - because money is being printed at MSG either way.

Let’s see where we net out.

I know the connection with Rose and the Brunsons :pachaha:

The Knicks have a nice cap situation as far as not having bad contracts which has always killed them and they about to fukk it up all over again..

Trade Julius Randle please :camby:

Knicks fans? Wassup with the jalen Brunson love by the team so much .. lol a max?
I'm sure the Knicks would sign Luka or Morant if they were available in FA breh.

He's a PG. They need a PG. He's young and is on the upswing. It's really not that hard to figure out. You overpay for FAs.

Not a max, it's about middle of the pack salary for a starting PG in the league (14th highest contract to a point guard...12th if they make it a descending contract that starts high).

But the love is moreso that they need a PG and he's the best PG that's realistically available without trading off much in assets. The move also helped them unload some players that were creating logjams for the young guys that showed promise last season. Burks is out of IQ's way, Noel out of Sims' way, and Kemba was already out of the way but his roster spot is opened up too.

Their offseason so far looks like this:
5 second rounders out
1 lottery pick out
Burks, Kemba, Noel out

2 second rounders in
3 future 1sts with lottery potential in
Brunson in
Sims converts from a two-way deal to a NBA deal and Trevor Keels in on that two-way opening.

It's not a bad offseason so far. But it's also nothing special. It's an incremental improvement on assets, incremental improvement on the roster talent, and an incremental improvement on the roster outlook (as in logjams are a little clearer now).

But the FO still has work to do and ensuing moves could make everything else better or worse in retrospect. Brunson/Fournier is a bad defensive tandem and RJ/Randle/Mitch has broken spacing. I think there's gotta be another move coming.

You trying to say Brunson is trash? I'm confused. Is he worth 100+M? In a vacuum probably not but there's no savior coming for the Knicks - they tried with KD and Kyrie, they tried with Lebron... hell they even tried with Jordan back in 96. It's not happening. They need to start building a team and that starts with someone who can run an offense, anyone who understands basketball at a rudimentary level knows this

That’s why teams stay middle of the pack.. why would you sign a guy to 100 million who you know is not worth it just to have somebody .. it’s better to have a terrible season and get a draft pick than be 3 games over .500 and be stuck lol ..
