Oh, I know.

I was kind enough not to make any of several "strides" jokes I came up with on the spot. Poor Tadpole. He is what he is. Dude's scoring jumped all them points post-all star break, and the %s somehow got even worse. Them struggle drives and bricks be hilarious to watch though.

It’s like us Knicks fans desperately wanted someone else than Randle to believe in.

Don’t get me wrong I’d rather have RJ as the Knicks 1st option than Randle

The lesser of two evils :yeshrug:

But why is RJ getting chants in the garden :mjlol:

I don’t even fukk with Tadpole, but I’d have started running the offense through him as soon as it was clear this wasn’t a real playoff team. Randle’s a surly bum. At least RJ has youth on his side. Whether I think his game is wack or not, can’t totally close the door on him becoming better. Randle on the other hand… yikes.

Healthy Cam Reddish is the Knicks only hope for the future :banderas:

My Pops Forever RIP
Cats really entertaining trading RJ...

What "superstar" would realistically be on the table for the Knicks??

This is why this fan base can't have nice things.
Hypothetical (I was gonna bring this up after Sunday)

Donovan Mitchell becomes available this summer (or at least Utah listens).

Knicks win the lottery.

Do you entertain a deal with the main parts going back to Utah are the #1 pick and RJ for Mitchell?

It has to be something like this, not a trade for trade's sake.

dog shyt asset management. you do this trade to do what? pair donovan mitchell with julius randle? :mjlol:
i'm only pairing rj and a damn #1 pick and multiple other assets for someone that is damn near mvp caliber.
mitchell is a nice player, he's not doing shyt in the east as it is currently set up as the best player on a team
the knicks timeline at best is 3-4 years from now.

No. Number 1 pick plus 2 promising rookie scale players and a vet is more than fair for Mitchell.

RJ has 2 more leaps in him imo. When he tightens his handle and when he learns to hit free throws he’s a bonafide 26 ppg scorer.

This never happens. You hear this about all these wings. It almost never happens. This goes double for someone who really can only go left.

Besides tightening his handle isn't the issue. It's creativity with the ball in your hands which is more a function of natural talent and not something you really see guys work on successfully.

I think creativity is a big aspect of it but not the whole bag. For example, IQ didn’t get more creative this year but he did get stronger. So his handling is more effective because he can’t be bumped off-balance so easily any more.

For RJ, I think just improving finishing with his right hand will go a long way.

For the bulldozer type ball-handlers; misdirection is their best weapon. If you can make a defender lean, you can bump him that way and use his own momentum to create space (obi did this for what feels like the first time last night on a drive into lamarcus Aldridge which is hype).

So if RJ can expand his shot profile to a place where defenders can’t press him left reliably, he’ll unlock new options to break guys down. He’s already shown some improvement going and finishing right, but he definitely turns back to his left hand more often than I’d like. I think this is another spot we’ll see growth though.

I wouldn’t count on rj crossing dudes up and finessing around the floor. But he’ll get better at creating enough space to get the shots off.

I also bet they’ll have him working on dribbling through the paint like PG’s are taught to. He picks his dribble up early and that’s making it easy to jump his passing lanes.

Again, since February RJ looks like a completely different player. He’s already started to go right. Added moves when driving to the cup. And Kawhi is an example of a wing who’s been able to improve his handle. It’s not crazy to think someone of RJs work ethic and mental makeup can keep improving. He’s not 25.

The priority this offseason needs to be to get rid of Randle, so respectfully fukk every single of one of these trade proposals I've had to read for the last couple of pages

I agree 100%. Moving Randle and getting some decent back is the only priority I could see this FO having.

If a star becomes available fine, priorities change. I just don't see one on the horizon. Utah doesn't have to move Mitchell they can move Gobert and buy time.
