Key takeaways:
- Even before the allstar break, Dolan let Rose know that a decision on Thibodeau was up to him. Money was not an issue despite the long contract.

- So far, signs point to Rose bringing back Thibodeau for the start of next season, but it sounds like Thibs will be on the hot seat. But something interesting is Begley quotes Bleacher Report's report that Thibodeau will be back. He plainly says that SNY wasn't able to independently confirm as much. (For those who aren't sure why that's significant, Drew Gooden was on a postgame show and said he spoke to World Wide Wes directly and was told not to believe reports a day after the Bleacher Report story came out).

- A lot of the rest of the Thibs section is just getting input from a former NBA coach about things we already know about. The Kemba situation might have caused issues. The lockerroom isn't lost by evidence of the 10-6 record recently. Thibs deserves some credit for guys like RJ, IQ, and Grimes but in the same respect, he deserves heat for Randle's behavior and regression.

- Next is on the front office and the search for a star. He mentions that bringing in a star wasn't confirmed by anyone, but that goal was a presumption for all after Rose and Wes were hired.

- Several teams are looking at Mitchell, SGA, and Beal. On the brightside where there's smoke, there's usually fire. For all these teams to be circling it means there's a real chance for one or more of these guys to be available. On the downside, there is guaranteed competition to get any of them. So prices will be inflated and competitive in any trade scenarios.

- One interesting new note is that one of the players on a tradable contract has his inner circle exploring possible trades "subtly." But the Knicks held on to him likely because he'll get more value in the offseason.

- Next he combines the two by mentioning that the FO needs to be in lockstep with the coach. That wasn't the case with the Cam Reddish trade, and he implies there may have been complaints internally about Knox being devalued through a lack of usage as well. This implies that the FO wants to see certain guys play and at a minimum pump up their value. It also seems to imply that Thibodeau is getting to make the final decisions even if it gets people angry internally.

- Last but far from least, here's an interesting quote from the article "One thing worth noting? Dolan had been communicating directly with Thibodeau more regularly post All-Star break, sources say." So now Dolan and Thibs are talking. It's interesting that Dolan let Rose decide on Thibs' future pre-ASB and then was talking to Thibs more post-ASB. What does it mean? I'm not sure at all...it could mean a lot of things or nothing. But it's interesting.

Article link above. I left out a LOT, but those are the key bits imo.

The Knicks need to trade Randle. Hopefully for expiring and draft picks.

Firing Thibs would be nice but as the article said he hasn’t lost the locker room so I doubt the FO does it. Also, the youth are developing with him there. The main goal should be moving on from Randle. He clearly doesn’t want to be in NY anymore and the team isn’t a dumpster fire without him.

And trade Burks...nothing against him, but since Thibs is probably sticking around we'll need to rip that band-aid off.

:salute:for the link and breakdown. These parts are worrying. Either Thibs trying to save himself or we got 3 people in Dolan's ear all with tremendous bits of power with different opinions which means no direction.

Strictly for logjam purposes, Burks, Noel and Kemba all need to be gone asap. Depending on if we sign a pg, Fournier or Rose should go too. Randle being gone is icing on the cake.
