:salute:for the link and breakdown. These parts are worrying. Either Thibs trying to save himself or we got 3 people in Dolan's ear all with tremendous bits of power with different opinions which means no direction.

There's an uncomfortable amount of star chasing accompanied by all the Dolan bits for sure. The only clear direction seems to be star chasing.

Fortunately, they haven’t shown any inclination that they’re willing to overpay for a star. Now, what our definition of overpay and what the FO’s definition of overpay is probably another matter all together.

They've been patient so far, but the more we hear about Dolan kicking around ideas the more concerned I am that they'll end up having to rush.

HYPOTHETICALLY SPEAKING,

say we can get Mitchell giving up Fournier, IQ, Obi and 5 plus firsts… do we bother trading Randle at that point? At such a depreciated asset, we wouldn’t be able to do better than him in order to seriously compete next season and beyond.

My first thought is that I'd have to think long and hard about 5+ picks along with IQ and Obi for Mitchell. But considering it leaves us with Rose, Mitchell, Barrett, Randle, Mitch (assuming re-signed)...plus Deuce, Grimes, Reddish, and Sims...That's an intriguing situation.

I probably still take calls on Randle though. That's a lot of talent to figure things out, but I still don't love the floor spacing and you've got multiple key scorers that are prone to fits of tunnel vision. You'll have plenty of scoring, ball handling, and playmaking without Randle. So it's possible that chasing a PF who defends tough and hits threes might work out better in the long run. Ironically, Marcus Morris would be a hell of a fit.

I may be in the minority, but I'd like to keep Fournier if possible. He's the best shooter on the team and he gives good effort on defense.

Maybe move him to 6th man, but don't just throw him in a deal for nothing.
Agreed. I’m also leaning more toward adding young assets to continue on RJs timeline and moving Randle than star hunting (unless it’s Zion).

Im hell bent on Mitchell being the “pg” if he gets here. I do not want a small backcourt.
Mitchell/Rose/McBride
RJ/Grimes
Cam/Burks
Julius/FA or 2nd Rounder
Mitch/Sims/Taj

What other 4s fit that bill along with Morris? I wouldn’t hate Harrison Barnes in that lineup either.

I wouldn’t mind going big or at least experimenting with it and changing after the fact.

Two young players on my radar just bc I like their games and that could sort of fit are Eric paschall and Jalen smith. I’ve been looking the pacers roster lately bc I think Malcolm Brogdon might be a more realistic target than league stars we’re always rumored to want. Paschall is one those guys who might be a cheap pick-up and whose college upside still has my interest.

then the bargain bin of good fits that probably aren’t starter talent, I’m looking at Georges niang and trey lyles as potential stop gaps that would probably be attainable.

Best case realistic outcome for next season:
RJ emerges as a legit AS player, and Quickley becomes the starting pg.
Wishing for anything else especially Randle or Thibs being fired won't happen. :hubie:

I think Randle being gone is a pretty likely option.

At least I hope they realize what he did this season deserves to put him on the trade market. I’m assuming that rumor about a movable contract was either him or Mitch.

I like the idea of Brogdon but he’s so damn injury prone. That would be a gamble
