Gotta pay my respect. Dude was a great coach. That dominant 2005 UNC team was the last of his era I'll never forget that.

Keeping my overhead low, and my understand high
Respects to the legend that made me a UNC fan...I always liked the colors as a kid but then hearing about Dean Smith and how much everyone respected him made me a true fan. Cause unlike the players, he wasn't going anywhere.

I don't think there's an arena name cooler than the Dean Dome

:salute::mjcry:

Dang...I'd heard he hadn't been well, but still didn't expect this. "Classy" is overused, but that's what comes to mind when I think of him. As much as he won, it was hard to dislike the man.

When I was growing up and first getting into hoops, UNC was the college team I feared most. Always gave my Terps fits. When they gave him his first L in the Dean Dome I couldn't believe it, I respected him and his program that much. And then they beat them again in the ACC tourney! It was like Christmas for me. :laugh: BTW (dating myself I know), that '86 squad was slept on. Daugherty, Jet, Wolf, Lebo, Hale, and a solid bench...thought they could've played for the title.

Respect and strength to Tar Heel Nation. Been a rough couple months for y'all.
