Only seen the cartoon. I need to read more Milestone.

After a series of creative differences between Deadpool director Tim Miller and star Ryan Reynolds, Miller has exited Deadpool 2. He hadn’t formally signed a deal to continue, but he was developing the script and by all accounts had planned to return behind the camera for a film Fox will release in 2018.
I’ve confirmed from studio insiders this exit was over mutual creative differences, but this all ended amicably and the studio is very high on Miller and the expectation is the filmmaker will jump right into another big Fox project: Influx, an adaptation of the Daniel Suarez novel that has a Mark Bomback script and is expected to launch a film trilogy.

welp this sequel gonna be super average or trash now with tim miller out
Are you serious!?
Yeah read static #1-#20, it might come across stale or lame now but as a kid I thought it was great and really hit home what static was about vs the cheesy cartoon
Nah. It was gonna be terrible if they kept the director. He wanted the guy from Bloodline to play Cable because he wanted it more "stylized". That guy looks like a real estate agent or a banker. He shouldn't be playing Cable. RR did the right thing by fighting about that shyt.
'Deadpool 2' Director Departs Over Creative Differences w/ Ryan Reynolds
If you put a beard on the guy and give him a grey dye job and makeup (to look more grizzled) plus lifts to be taller than Reynolds, he pretty much has the look. I think Deadpool 2 needs a bigger scope and more plot development.
I don't think this was a good idea .
Update: According to The Wrap, the pair parted ways because Miller wanted the second film to be more stylized, while Reynolds (a producer on both films) wanted to keep the raunchy, fourth-wall-breaking comedy approach that made the first film such a success. Their conflict reportedly came to a head with the rumored casting of Kyle Chandler as Cable. Chandler was Miller’s choice, but Reynolds didn’t want him for the part, and the studio ended up siding with the star- partially because his renegotiated contract includes casting approval.
