For all the talk about how dikk was acting like Jason that's been going on, I'm glad we had this episode to show the differences between the two characters. This show's dikk is angry and violent, but it's less about resembling Jason and more about the crossroads he is at in life. Everyone wants happy go lucky dikk, but he's not there right now. Instead, we're meeting him when he's at something of a low point. He doesn't know who he is, and he is harboring a deep resentment to the closest thing he has to a family right now.

What became clear to me during this episode while Jason was grilling dikk was that regardless of whatever cause dikk and Bruce to fall out, dikk is simply using Bruce as a scapegoat for his problems. dikk loved being Robin, and as Jason noted, probably still wants to be despite what he says. However, he's still holding onto the anger from his parents' murder and is aiming that at Bruce. Even Kori has noted that dikk doesn't want to actually deal with his problems.

Leading the Titans will obviously be the thing that leads to dikk actually getting his shyt together, and probably have him make the transition to Nightwing.
Yup this is why I love this episode

imma have to rewatch the ep cuz the quality of that rip with the arabic subs was just :hhh:

things of note that i liked: starfire finally got a new outfit, jason todd was fukkery, calvin from my wife and kids still getting work and not being killed :blessed:, and dikk finding out bruce locked him out of all his shyt :mjheh:

stuff i didnt care for: starfire still dressing like a 80s whore :dahell:, jason todd being the young robin now, calvin from my wife and kids not realizing bruce is bats :francis:, and overall this just felt like a filler ep. U can say it developed dikk more but it didnt really show anything i didnt realize in the previous eps. Guess it was just a way of bringing in jason todd and showing how he's gonna heel turn at some point.

The Truth
That’s from dark knight returns. Batman has a line about two face calling robin “decoy” and how it fukked with him

Fair enough lol. But why aren’t we counting them? I definitely count the Simpsons when I’m thinking about the greatest shows of all time and it’s high on that list. Same with the boondocks or futurama
I wasn’t counting them, it’s a cartoon. I wasn’t talking about cartoons..

If that’s the case we can bring in a lot of animated shows

:francis:who ever edited those promos need to be fired. It completely mischaracterizes this show and I was one of the ones saying fukk this emo shyt. I'm loving the hell out of it.

But they really need to dedicate a series to the Bat family. You dont even need batman. Jason's episode is the best thus far and cheaper to pull off then cg green animals, black vomit and fire balls:francis:

I'm still trying to figure out how that first trailer even happened. How did WB allow that to be released? Like you said, it completely mischaracterized the show and turned off almost the entire audience.

The infamous "fukk Batman" line is probably the best example. In the show, it's an effective comedic beat. The worst thing you can say about it is that it might be a little mistimed. But the trailer made it seem like it was supposed to be this badass line that we were meant to take 100% seriously. Did the person who edited the trailer even watch the show?
