I remember like 2 years ago they had the dish anywhere app to use the ps4 as a dish receiver but now its gone... I think ever since they tried to use the ps4 as a TV with Vue and Crackle they stopped approving the TV apps

there isn't a lack of apps anymore. Or did I miss something?

All of the majors that people truly give a fukk about are on there (Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Video, ESPN, NFL, NBA). On the PS3, it was indeed trash. But again, that isn't the case anymore.

I’m saying something like dc universe should be there. That’s what’s throwing me off. Showtime isn’t there either. Neither is starz. Neither is the cw app. Neither is shudder or filmstruck. Those apps are all on Xbox tho

Xbox doesn't have a cable subscription streaming service like PS Vue. That's a HUGE difference and also why a lot of those apps aren't there.

no doubt. But it's come a LONG way from the complete trash it was on the PS3.

I travel weekly for my job so I stream lots of shyt on my PS4, but even then I still use my firetv for terrarium. And the PS Browser works great for shyt too with sports streams and shows.
