Aren't all the CW shows light and fun? I don't watch most of them but they seem to be. Why does Titans also have to be light and fun?

I'm not saying Titans is going to be good at all, we have only seen a trailer.. but I gots no issues with TV-MA ratings. I'm not ten-years old.

Every one except Arrow, yeah.

I get the feeling they made it this why to set it apart from the animated series.

If you read the comics there is the Titans team and the Teen Titans team, I'm guessing this is based more a mature group with mature settings, they could do Teen Titans later or just keep it animated which is fine too. The animated show is a hit.

Nah fukk that. GO is some of the dumbest, most stupidest shyt ever put on television. I’ll take the OG Teen Titans cartoon which had some actual depth and plot any day of the week.

Think the OG would have been a better adaptation. I came up on Teen Tians on CN so that's how I envision them; Beast Boy and Cyborg providing the comic relief, Raven minding her emo business, Starfire as the sweet alien, and Robin as the leader.

If people wanted to really start bytching about characters not acting like they are supposed to then the Teen Titans cartoon's depiction should have had the biggest pushback.
"Disney Princess Starfire" is not anything like the character from the comics at all.
Cyborg wasn't comedy relief he was the most woe is me emo motherfukker on the team with Kid Flash as a close second.
Raven wasn't emo; she was cold, distant and aloof.

That might work for a serial, but I don't know how it'll hold up in live action format. Although characters are characters regardless of format. One thing I loved about that show is every season was seemingly written around one character.

S01 - Robin and his counterpart in Slade
S02 - Beast Boy and his counterpart in Terra
s03 - Cyborg and Brother Blood
S04 - Raven and Trigon

The article I read said the Titans first season was not an episodic show but rather a 10 episode movie. So they plan on telling one story across the entirety of the first season. Seems like it will be a focus on Raven based on the trailer.

Geoff Johns loves Stargirl. When he created her he based her on his sister, Courtney, who died in the TWA Flight 800 crash.
So it makes sense that a character that Johns has that kind of affection for would be one of the early characters to get something done with them on a DC streaming platform.

What is light and fun about a guy who was dragged into being the kid sidekick of a crazy vigilante 5 minutes after his parents were murdered?
Or a teenage girl with pretty much Satan for a father?
Or a runaway alien slave girl trying to stay away from her intergalactic slave masters and murderous sister?
The only light and fun character is Beast Boy and that is only because the stories about him being all depressed and sad happened back in the 1960s and all modern appearances had writers making him the happy go lucky guy who embraces his freakishness.

And aside from Teen Titans Go! the Titans as a property has never been light and fun. There have been light and fun moments but overall the Titans have been dark and depressing as fukk. Even the Teen Titans cartoon wasn't light and fun. It was mostly serious with light touches.
