When I grow up. I want to be like GI Robot.

:russ:

'Sounds like something a Nazi would say' in the middle of American late night show.

This show feels like a fusion of Suicide Squad and Doom Patrol.

But this could have been a throwaway show and it's not though it's clear James likes his flawed/anti heroes.

They reference peacemaker too.

Lowkey I think they are going to make the rebooted DCU an extension of the universe that suicide squad/peacemaker are in. They might change the actors for the JLA but those films events will be cannon in the new universe.

Sort of interesting that Marvel has Fury and DC has Waller who is an evil version of Fury instead.

When they mentioned Amanda Waller's daughter and Peacemaker I wondered if it was all a shared universe.

Just binged all 6 so far.

I'm glad they didn't kill Flagg. He was pretty much the only likeable character, well other than maybe the fish girl and weasel. Bride and Phosophorus seem kind of OP. On the way to kill the queen it was weird how they went from easily killing everyone to all the sudden running and having to hide from them. None of the queens goons seemed to pose any threat to them. They needed to make queens henchman pose a more credible threat

Yeah I think Suicide Squad is going to be the only thing that carries over. Low-key the glimpses we seen of that universe in the show fits with a universe full of superheroes like we seen in the clips from the Superman movie.

Mixed on the finale, but overall enjoyed the show. Gunn’s characterization of the cast added a lot of emotional depth, while also being a killer on the pacing front.

Gonna assume we’ll be getting another round of trauma flashbacks for the new additions. Nina’s was tragic, but so was everyone else’s, really. That got repetitive to me quick. Next season has an opportunity of focusing on the present-day story better.

Nina needed more shine than what she ended up getting, too. She really didn’t get to do much here and I’m lost on how Waller even ended up adding her onto the team, lol.

G.I. Robot returning is bittersweet to me because while he’s the homie, she won’t ever know he’s back. :to:

Can’t front though, they did get an upgrade with King Shark. :hubie:
