Weird criticism. There's been "strange bedfellow" teams in the comic books dating back 50 years. Why wouldn't creators want to bring some of this to movies and television? Plus, they are pretty much a blank slate because many of these heroes/villains only had one or two runs so you can pay homage but also do some tinkering without anyone throwing a fit over it.

so my thoughts:
In many ways, I am fukking SICK AND TIRED of DC trying to make their own GoTG. While I get why they want it ("wait, we can use all these goofy ass comic book characters by putting them on a lovable losers team together?"), i never really was a huge fan of the GoTG and the Suicide Squad concept has been run into the ground as far as Im concerned.

With that said, I grew up a DC kid so I love diving into the toy box of little known DC characters. I like that each of the Creatures have pretty well fleshed out backstories and you understand why theyre personalities are the way they are.

What i didnt like was how constrained the whole series is. Clear as day that Gunn was told "soft launch this and keep the story elements light enough that we can pivot toward or away from it at any point".

Like there was so many ways they couldve made the Pokolistan Princess thing more intriguing (have it so that shes a proxy for a Darkseid/Dominators invasion? Trying to summon Mordru?) but that wasnt the intent.

The main focus was just to see if people even have interest in a Creature Commandos concept. In a lot of ways thats pretty in line with how Zaslav feels about animation (in that. he hates it) so the fact that the show was even greenlit should be appreciated.
And the funny thing is that the animated productions like Harley Quinn have done more for DC as brand than any of their live action movies they've produced.

I haven't watched this show (not interested). All I came to say is that I wish that DC would greenlight a Wonder Woman animated series. She's never had one yet Harley Quinn of all characters has one lol.

Another Static cartoon would be cool too, of course.

As okay as I thought this show was I still think it was under explained edgy bullshyt that princess somehow took over the world and killed the fukking Justice League with her no powers having ass and her mecha knights who were cannon fodder the whole season:camby:

I don't hate this show I liked it enough to watch another season but I'm not over the moon with it. I felt they tried too hard with some of the sad backstories, specifically with Nina's dad getting shot or the little girl being left to burn in Weasels story. They have the woat police. I liked GI Robot, The Bride and Frankenstein and Dr Phosphorus was cool too. Nina not turning up in the water was a disappointment but I guess it was kind of the point since she was never really a monster and shouldn't have been on the team let alone imprisoned in the first place. I'd rate this show a 6.5/10.

Finished the series. It was ok, but a lot of Gunn's edgy humor and music all over the place. I do like that Gunn always puts a spotlight on Z-list characters. Outside of both Flaggs, Harley Quinn, King Shark, and to an extent Peacemaker, I've never heard of any of the people in his Suicide Squad and Creature Commandos.

Saw all of this in 2 days. Phenomenal, this had everything from action, laughs, sadness, etc. amazing. Really did good to fill the gap between invincible and xmen 97.

My only criticism is that gunn has basically written the same story in a different format for like the 99th time. GotG, SS, peacemaker, same thing. “Crew of outcasts come together and become a legitimate team” Gunn gotta switch it up.

But it worked, this is arguably his best work since GotG to me, I very much look forward to season 2

Def felt rushed, every episode flew by… I also found out interesting what happened to Flagg and that he had no involvement in the finale at all, yet we know he’s back and good in Superman?

Plus clayface being killed off when he has a movie coming
I dont think either are dead. Incapicitated at best

Tmk clayface cant even be killed in that fashion

Clayface will either be in Reeve's universe or separate like Joker. Won't be dcu.
