It's not just the name... It's the entire movie that has to follow a team up format. They have to spread the script with a 3-4 women team, instead of focusing on one person. Yea Harley is the main focus, but every extra character is taking away from her time and her story


Like OP said... They should have made it all about her. Yes we know, we tired of origin stories.. But those are the ones that sell like crazy. Could have continued down that dark, twisted path the Joker was on, and we learn why she's so fukking bat shyt crazy.. Cut all the extra shyt out, and get right to the fukking point

Nobody wants to be dropped into this shyt with 3 birds we don't know (ask me how).. she just doing her "Harley" thing and quips all movie with no basis but what we learned in shytty ass SS.


DC is terrible at this... For every good movie they've put out, there's at least 5 bad ones

It's not the marketing. She has no story other than being a popular add-on character that showed up in BTAS. There's no depth to her whatsoever, she has no personal enemies to give her interesting conflicts to work with, and so she has to have supporting people around to be filler. And now it's flopped, twice. Just doing a female Joker origin story would have been awful. (There should never have been a Joker origin story either, but that's another discussion.)


The rule34 fanboys and girl power types love her, but that's it. Zero depth.

Reasons this movie could be underperforming:

1. The harley hype died down. Suicide squad was 4 years ago. I remember seeing a million harleys on halloween that year. I haven't seen as many harleys recently. If they want to draw from the hype of the SS harley performance, they probably needed to be faster.
2. The movie seems girly. + The movie is rated r.
3. The trailers arent selling the movie to people

Girly isn't the problem. It's not sexy. It's a Harley movie. It's just not the Harley people were expected for Suicide Squad. That Harley had energy and sex appeal. This Harley looks like she spent a few weeks depressed and not showering. That and it should have just been called Harley Quinn.
