People are fed up, and rightfully so. Wasn’t it 13yo carjackers who killed a man in DC just last year or so? Sincerely hope the homeowner walks away with minimal legal repercussions. People are tired. The Black people in that very neighborhood have spoken on this incident, and they are TIRED.

I get it. fukked up, but I get it. A lot of my neighbors are tooled up because of these carjackings around here. Several of my neighbors either had their rims stolen, cars broke into, stolen or straight up jacked. One of my neighbors racked the shotty on a dude that tried to get at his Blackwing parked in the backyard.

And what makes it even more infuriating is DCPD don't be doing jackshyt about it. It was just a matter of time before nikkas start taking matters into their own hands

The youngins are laying people down like I’ve never seen before, and I’m of age to be there in the murder capitol years that NY rappers talked about with DC.

I can admit I’ve been scared the past few years more than ever before.

I used to wonder if it was an age thing, which explains some of it, but my whole life I’ve seen the worst of the worst, but for the most part you had to be a part of something or super unlucky to get got. Now, it’s different. You just losing your life driving down the street in a normal daylight.

True story - I’ve done and seen things I shouldn’t have have a teen. Never came as close to losing my life as last summer, driving from work 11am Wed and caught in shootout which resulted in me flipping my SUV. Random. Few weeks ago a mother died with same story, she got hit. I didn’t.

So yea. This is bad. I ask myself, is this how it felt in 1991 when blacks people supported the crime bill that we now hate? I don’t want to hurt my own, I love these kids…but what do you do?

I have a photo of myself in a youth jail from 2019, when I used to go talk to and help the youngins there…(they listen to me because I’m still cool and doing what they want to do, despite age gap), and one kid particularly stuck under my wing and asked to stand next to me in photo and we connected the most.

This 16 year old now is dubbed one of the biggest mass murderers in DC and is gone for good. You can google him.

I don’t have answers, but excuse my rant.

I didn't imply it was everyone. i'm not saying poor people are inherent criminals either because white collar crime eclipses all other crimes attributed to poor people.

i'm saying wealthy inequality is a driving force to people committing crimes especially if they don't know how to better themselves legally or don't believe they can survive by legal means. kids are recruited to do these crimes because they're more easily manipulated and targeted because they have a need.

it's kids from a certain household income bracket that are committing these crimes. wages are low and cost of living keeps increasing. parents/guardians have little to no discretionary income for their kids but that doesn't stop kids from wanting stuff.jobs that kids use to be able to get are no longer plentiful or no longer exist. these kids might get a taste for "easy" money doing something illegal and it's just a slippery slope right into the criminal underworld. they now KNOW how to "earn" money illegally.

yes having neglectful parents plays a role in this but the true driving force of these crimes by kids is wealth inequality. few kids of modest means will ever engage in these type of criminal acts to make money.
