DC homeowner shoots, kills 13 year old Karon Blake after claiming he was breaking into cars

It’s really bad.

The youngins are laying people down like I’ve never seen before, and I’m of age to be there in the murder capitol years that NY rappers talked about with DC.

I can admit I’ve been scared the past few years more than ever before.

I used to wonder if it was an age thing, which explains some of it, but my whole life I’ve seen the worst of the worst, but for the most part you had to be a part of something or super unlucky to get got. Now, it’s different. You just losing your life driving down the street in a normal daylight.

True story - I’ve done and seen things I shouldn’t have have a teen. Never came as close to losing my life as last summer, driving from work 11am Wed and caught in shootout which resulted in me flipping my SUV. Random. Few weeks ago a mother died with same story, she got hit. I didn’t.

So yea. This is bad. I ask myself, is this how it felt in 1991 when blacks people supported the crime bill that we now hate? I don’t want to hurt my own, I love these kids…but what do you do?

I have a photo of myself in a youth jail from 2019, when I used to go talk to and help the youngins there…(they listen to me because I’m still cool and doing what they want to do, despite age gap), and one kid particularly stuck under my wing and asked to stand next to me in photo and we connected the most.

This 16 year old now is dubbed one of the biggest mass murderers in DC and is gone for good. You can google him.

I don’t have answers, but excuse my rant.

But....lil breh was jacking cars AND had done it before. Obviously we ALL know a white homeowner would never shoot a 13-year old white kid doing the same thing BUT.....committing crime makes it hard to have much sympathy.

Black kids don't get second chances so as parents you gotta remind them of that.

I had a voice and enough neck/jaw hair to be able to buy cigarettes for HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS when I was in 7th grade. Them store clerks thought I was 20. They've done studies where people perceive Black kids as being older than they actually are. Shooter probably was convinced the kid was older.

None of that is a justification for shooting a child.

It's actually not. What he's saying is that if you are poor you're more likely to commit a crime. It's a structural social issue. And due to white supremacy, black people are more likely to be poor, which makes them more affected by the current crisis and thus more likely to commit crimes. On top of that, they are more likely to get punished harder for committing a crime than white people and more likely to get killed for both, committint crimes and just being suspected of committing a crime. It's really mindblowing how many supposedly black people have a hard time grasping these very simple facts of living in a racist system. Which leads me to the conclusion that either you aren't black or you're extremely stupid.

poor whites commit crime too but it's different. they are stealing pills or in some instances blank scripts from family members and selling them. steal catalytic converters, retail theft and even package theft in front of homes. different crimes are committed at different rates depending on demographics, population density and location.
