- all regions aren't created equal. if dogg pound were from the south, they'd probably be seen as the goat group.

...this is a tough azz question based on the fact I like Dogg Food better than any 8ball MJG album.....but OVERALL?even that badboy 8ball and MJG album was solid bruh....and I'm clearly takin Kurupt over everybody BUT Daz last....I don't like to stand on the fence but I think I might have to on this one.

Nah n/m I think ima role with DPG simply off the fact I play DPG more for Kurupt an to hear Kurpt alone,even if I don't wanna hear the music or get sick of the songs I still wanna hear Kurupt....I gotta give 8ball and MJG the nod on better music probaly but as I don't appreciate them as much as rappers they can fall out of rotation,but will surely come back when I want some great music

I never brought up sales until you brought it up. I never mentioned sales in regard to the Fugees.

In regard to Face, there lies my point: Eightball & MJG also have classics (along with other things), which allows them to trump Dogg Food. People have put up that one album against a catalog of group albums by Eightball & MJG. Not to mention that Eightball & MJG still had relevance up until at least 2011 and they dropped their debut in 1992.

i didn't say the album was garbage, or that daz was a wack producer, or that kurupt coudn't spit..im just saying that album don't compare to a lot of other WC classics, nor does it compare to a few other albums that dropped in 95..dogg food isn't on the level of MATW or OB4CL,period..95 marked the beginning of the end of the west coast sound.

why are you comparing the dogg pound to 2pac & raekwon? we're supposed to be comparing the dogg pound to 8ball & mjg.

and think about what youre saying here. 8ball & mjg dropped an album in '95 too. yet their joint isn't even mentioned in the same breath as any of these artists. pac, raekwon, dogg pound, etc. its like you killed your own argument.

Eightball and MJG ALWAYS brought it though for YEARS.Daz and Kurupt..meh a couple spots here and there but most of there success was piggybacked off snoop and deathrow..they never were or felt like the main attraction.And Eightball and MJG was that.

Like Daz & Kurupt, they had the one album that was huge with fans, critically acclaimed, and was huge. The point is nobody's letting The Score cloud their judgement and elevating The Fugees to some GOAT group status like people are doing with Dogg Pound in this thread b/c of Dogg Food.

Eightball & MJG are both respected lyricists. They defintely have longevity in their favor and are probably more highly regarded in their own region than Daz & Kurupt in theirs. Eightball & MJG were almost a mandatory feature for any Southern MC who made it big from Master P to T.I. Almost every MC from the South cites Coming Out Hard as an influence. At one point, Eightball was hailed as the Biggie of the South (before Ross was known in the mainstream). They weren't even mainstream like that yet they were appearing on albums from Mase and Mobb Deep.

Don't even make it about sales, because Eightball & MJG have gold and platinum albums (group and solo). Daz & Kurupt only have one double platinum album between them and that's Dogg Food.

Uh...

- Eightball (not "Eightball & MJG") was on Mobb Deep's album and a lot of features because he was managed by Violator.
I maintain that MJG didn't get shown as much love because of that.

- Dogg Pound (Daz or Kurupt or both) were "mandatory features" for anybody anywhere who made it big...or little lol. You would be hard pressed to find many major urban artists without a DPG feature.
