Brehs.,. I ran into my first horde when getting lavender for Boozer and I ran like a bytch. I didn’t have the fire power to deal with them even fully stocked. I have level two trust with Tucker so I have the machine gun with 35 per Clip... but surely that’s not enough to deal with a horde?

Any rips because I knew with the calibre of weapons I have so far, I’m not match for a horde.

Shoulda gave the drugs to Copeland, the bike upgrades are way more beneficial to you early on then that machine gun, try and save off on selling your ears too btw, you get way better guns from the 2nd big area onwards

also, molotovs are your best friend early on for big hordes, regarding Nero Injector stat boosts, put a couple in focus here and there but for the most part you’ll Be wanting to max out stamina as soon as possible

Just finished the game. It started off really slow but it’s rewarding once you start putting the hours in. My main criticisms are the bugs and glitches but I can let that slide due to the sheer size of the game.

Once I got the big weapons and napalm, killing hordes became very rewarding. Those screamers were a real pain in the ass though.

O’Brien at the end. :picard:

Just grabbed for 20. Early reviews put me off. In the download cache now. I think everybody is so entitled now they expect every game to be a 10/10 master piece. Infamous second sons was short af and cheap ass gameplay with bad graphics. But that’s one of the funnest games I ever played

A few tips:

When you burn a nest there are two ways to do it: either by creating a Molotov cocktail or... get a gas can, throw it in the nest and then shoot it. It will save you cocktails if you’re running low.

After you burn a nest, get on your bike and run off to save ammo. You don’t have to kill all of them who run out, once it’s burned it is destroyed.

If there are more than one or two nests in close proximity, try to burn them one after the other quickly and then ride off to save you coming back.

Clear as many ambush camps as possible, as soon as you encounter them ideally. After each one is cleared, not only do you get a map that reveals all the goodies in each location but you use faster travel there which saves you time. Some camps will give you recipes to create weapons too which is vital.

Collect as much scrap and herbs as possible.

Anytime there’s a gas station, put your bike near it and hold O to fill up your bike (it took me hours into the game to notice this, I thought I could only use the gas can)

Try to get as many parts from cars as possible. This will be invaluable as you will need to repair your bike often as well as repair your melee weapons (a skill you can learn later)

Stealth kills gives you the most experience points in combat so take your time and use that method, especially when clearing camps. Head shots is the next one that gives you the most experience afterwards.

Don’t try and clear hordes until you get the weapons from the second half of the game when you travel down south. You’ll encounter the first one when you collect Lavender.... DO NOT ATTEMPT clear them. It’s stupid they turn up that early in the game. If you see a horde that early, tread quietly and run away on your bike if need be.

Wait until you at least get the napalm weapon and a gun with a magazine of at least 50 before you start taking on Hordes (you’ll have to at some point during the game when you first test the Napalm weapon)

When you find a NERO research site, make sure you either cut off or shoot all the speakers. Take your time and connect the lines and check the front entrance to make sure they’re all gone. The last thing you want to do is switch on the generator and then the speakers attract the attention of freakers.

At these NERO research sites, it allows you to either upgrade your health, stamina or focus. Start with increasing your stamina first. You’ll be doing a lot of running. Your health you can always easily replenish mid battle.

Time how to roll out of the way ASAP. That will be your saving grace for evading attacks. Time that to perfection. It’s an invaluable skill to master.

If you feel you can take on Freakers with melee weapons, don’t worry about them breaking early on. There are plenty of them throughout the game and once you learn how to repair them, you’ll never be without one. It’s also a good way to save ammo if you’re far from a camp.

Always search the trunk of a police car for ammo. Always search the back of a fire truck for med kits.

Don’t forget to collect the ears of any freakers you kill and collect the meat of any animals you kill. These are good for when you want to make large purchases at each camp. Remember, the currency is not transferable between each camp. If you have 10,000 credits at Copeland’s camp, it doesn’t mean you have that amount at Tucker’s.

Thanks you too. Also, start the game on Hard mode. I didn’t find it that difficult on Hard so it must be easy on normal.

Couple hours in now and a few questions breh.
Does it matter the order you do your missions in?
And good looking on that canister trick.

Nah not at all. Whichever order best suitS you. I try to do as many side missions as possible to build up my trust with the camps. Of course, some side missions won’t open until you progress further through the main story.

Haha, you’re like near 45/50% there. It’s a big ass game. You haven’t even fought a herd yet. :mjlit:
