the story was good, there were some nice nods to the OG series and an army of apes fukked up downtown San Fran and then...AND THEN they fukked up the police on the Golden Gate bridge and took down a chopper!

Nope, but it makes sense. This movie takes place over a decade after Rise, and considering he was close to the dude who originally got infected by the virus, it's a safe bet that he (and the lovely Freida Pinto) probably died early on during the outbreak. But look at the bright side, breh...we're getting Gary Oldman, Jason Clarke, and Keri Russel in their place for this movie. Plus Andy Serkis is back as Caesar.
