Fwiw, I was in the Navy and I saw shyt. Last year I was in Sierra Leone and this year I am going to Ghana. With all due respect fugg the slave lands and that includes the USA where I am from. I can see nikkas that are living poor right here. I don't need to travel somewhere else in the western hemisphere to see that shyt. So I like to travel to places were my people used to be free and I study their culture.
My plan is to retire to Sierra Leone.

Yeah I understand. I was not belittling any place that anybody is from. I am just saying that I am a Black man and if anybody (including other Black people) is treating other Black men bad then I ain't going to that place, because I am just as much of a Black man as the Black men that they were abusing. That includes in the USA, because I am not going places and spending my money where they treat us bad. We don't demand a lot, but we should at least be entitled to the same respect that is given to everybody else.
Besides that and this might sound weird, but I am getting to a place in my life where I want to be around Black people that speak our languages. I speak English and I hear Black men speaking Spanish, French and Portuguese but those are not our languages. I want to hear people that speak the languages of my ancestors. Maybe my ears and brain are too old to learn those languages, but my soul is just happy being able to hear them and knowing that we once had our own and that there are still people carrying it forward.
Many West African countries have done much worse in their recent history against their own people than the DR does against anyone.
I mention this because that's why you stated you wouldn't go to DR anymore
As a Breh who goes to Cape Verde every summer and makes it a point to visit Kenya and Ginnea Bisau on the mainland when I’m out there......there are about 1000000000000x more places that I wouldn’t visit in Africa than I would here in the U.S.

I know how fugged up the USA is, because I have seen the bullshyt of racism all across the USA up close and personal for a very long time. I am satisfied that it ain't going nowhere.
