I really like this project for the most part but the fact that I've paid £10 for 8 tracks is a bit of a pisstake. The skits/interludes are unnecessary and it fukks up the flow of listening.

Now that I've gotten the negatives out of the way, I love;
Paranoia
The Hated
Phone Jumping
Found a Way
Wanna Be Me
Have You Ever

The Hated is probably one of East's best songs ever (even with the Nas pump fake). I don't really care for the songs aimed at girls but I understand why he has them.

I'm looking forward to the album mainly because I need those tracks he was previewing on IG.

The next album will dictate where his career is headed.

He said he wants Jay and Nas on the same record on his debut album. Hope he succeeds.

It's dope to hear new rappers that aren't just the trap melodic types.

i just started the listen of this.
i came into post because this paranoia song is actually dope as a banger.

hopefully it keeps this level of quality.
his rhymes were not much but in the pocket for the type of record this was.


if it can keep my attention as a full release i will post a more detailed review.
yet, not sure as this hatred song is whatever.

this shyt is to commercial driven to give a respin and gave me no real idea of him as a dope emcee. As he just basically parroted everything out there. Just with better technica aptitude than the general whatev'a style rapper. Yet the type of songs here make this a whatev's type of release as it has nuffin bold or original for ny based artist in the Mecca. All I heard was yes a ny guy with technical aptitude we are all supposed to be hearing in rap anyway get on production that does not feel native to what type of artist this. Double time flows for a whole album will never work for a ny based artist like Dave east.

it was like ny got transplanted to the time of bone and crucial conflict and never made a cross roads, bogus mayne, or po pimp.
this whole mix cultural music of hip hop with pop sentiments has run its course.

it just does not work and is not genuine. Especially for an actual ny artist.

No just rhyme wise and overall execution this shyt is to commercial for a guy who is not really a commercial artist at all.
At the end of the day, the over abundant double time for a mecca based artist sounds basically stoopid as the predominate sound for a nyc based artist.

he raps in double time the whole album breh.
he pockets flows better so he is not offkey but all those commercial double time flows on a NYC artist just don't match.
as it just does not match the region or feel for what is wanted out of NYC artist. On that record he never made or tried to create a record of his own. It always a Parrott or bite of some shyt that dropped from another region too.

He won't be dropping again anytime soon.

The label will put his resources into newer artist.He's not showing any kind of return

His next one was supposed to be the LP, "the album" we all been hearing about.

But judging by his comments here, it seems like he hasn't even been working on the project... How can you, when you're just announcing the producers "you want" on it, and not that you already got the tracks done or actively working on it.

Which means none of the previews we heard are going to be on the album. There might be another mixtape or "EP" out before that with those tracks.
