The same people complaining about this are the same people who were complaining about him not telling enough jokes and relying on lgtbq storytelling last time.

I thought it was pretty obvious that he was addressing that like, "okay, y'all want me to just tell jokes? I'll go back to telling jokey jokes," and being more rapid-fire, one joke after another, and less stories. Especially the disabled and titanic ones.

I only remember MAYBE 5 lgbtq jokes, and even then it was just the punchline. At this point y'all are just hate-watching so you can complain after, so just don't watch his stuff anymore, simple enough. When I've thought a comedian has fallen off, and/or become unfunny, I've just stopped watching their stuff. Not sure who's breaking into your homes and forcing you to open Netflix and watch his shyt for an hourish. Miserable fukks.

Happy new year.

Chappelle is a great but he never reached the peaks of Rock, Eddie, or Carlin. But that's just me :yeshrug:

You realize Carlin didn't peak til he was 55 and on his 8th special?

Dave is younger and has less material overall, the notion that he has peaked, especially as he moves more into the type of lane that Carlin occupied when he had his trancendant era of comedy doesn’t really track.

That's the thing about Dave that's special but probably off-putting to some, is that he's a big ass kid.

It's why he slaps his knee and laughs at his own jokes. It's why when you tell him "Racism isn't funny, don't say the n-word on TV" he responds with Clayton Bigsby lol. "You don't have any material without punching down at trans folks"...okay so I'm gonna talk about disabled people lol and STILL slip a trans punchline just to piss you off.

You set a boundary for him, he see's it as his duty to challenge it and try to extract something funny out of it. If only 4 or 5 people laugh it doesn't really matter because he's ammusing himself, for himself. All good/great artists need to find a space where they do what they do, for them.

You right about Dave being a big ass kid. My man cited Bugs Bunny as one of his comedic influences and you can see it.

Hot take:

There will be decidedly more outrage at Dave’s joke about trans women getting sent to female prisons bullying and raping female inmates than there will ever be the cases where that has actually happened.

Because then you have to question why do the dumb shyt in the first place and the whole rhetoric falls apart.

A fun watch. Enjoyed it a lot

Does he overly troll the lgbt community? I don't know or care but i'll say no matter the subject matter i always find it entertaining how DC sets his comedic traps then leads us down branching paths until we walk right into the very trap/punchline he set up from jump.
