I love this type of comedy. It's actually the only one I fukk with. Dave is continuing that long line of black comedians that educated and entertained. From elders dikk, Richard and Mooney. To older kats like Chris Rock.

Sadly ain't too much comedy like this left (that is also funny) no matter the race of the comedian.

The worst thing about being a marginalized group is people ignoring who you are and what you go through either out of spite or political correctness. White folks that 'don't see color' don't always consciously erase our struggle but that's what happens when you refuse to include the nuances that make all of this shyt that you're commenting on run.

Refusing to let them show up, be off in the corner as critics and not participants is a sure fire way to keep the rest of society quiet about why they're marginalized in the first place. This is why he said empathy is bi-sexual, it must go both ways.

100. Dave gets it. The way to be "normal" is to be able to make a joke but also take them. This way you have a voice and a presence instead of being on the outside. Being offended by everything means you can't be see the humor in stuff.

Haven't seen it yet but why is everyone pretending you can't be deep and funny at the same time? Or you can be deep and not funny or funny and not deep. Chapelle is known for deep and funny comedy. Weaving knowledge and truth into his jokes.

Comedians just HAVE TO talk about the elephant in the room. Trans people just want people to ignore the elephant. Because they're the elephant. They'll never get along.

Like Bill Burr had a bit where he was like if your friend got a bad haircut, you can clown him for a bad haircut. But he shows up in a dress and you just HAVE TO pretend you don't see it. People should accept a trans but don't tell people that we have to pretend it's all regular. It's not but we can get past that.

Like if your friend with a bad haircut reacts poorly to jokes about the hair, the whole crew will go in on him. He gets bullied. But if he laughs and be like yea, but I like it. My wife did it for me. Or something. We'll laugh and be like aight, that's cool. And we all move past it. Trans people react SUPER POORLY and comedians gotta do their job and point it out. Like Daphne just laughed about it and then talked her truth: "I'm experiencing life". Dave respected that and embraced her and tried to help her on her journey. That's real. Trans community had to act high and mighty. So yea, fukk em for that. We gonna go in on you for that one.

Dave put together really well. They going after him and he's not backing down. The topic is too big and the elephant is too obvious. And his friend lost her life because of these hypocrisy and I feel like he did that one for her.
