I haven't watched yet but going through this thread it's looking like these topics he's joking on are new as hell :wtf:

I thought all these specials were kinda older material that he had in the vault :wtf:

The Emmett Till bit was incredibly disappointing, and it's a shame Dave took it in the direction he did. Emmett's murder was nothing less than an absolute injustice; calling it a means to a more equitable end is nothing short of an insult to his legacy. Why did it have to take the death of a 14 year old Black child and the mass-media publication of his corpse to make white people consider their stance on basic human rights for others? The true discussion point should be their absolute and innate lack of humanity. As much as Dave would like to believe otherwise, there is not and cannot be any unity with their kind. Trump is everything but a ''lie that will save us''.

He seemed to take safe way through all the racial discussion pieces - the whole ''goodness will prevail'' type shyt, likely to keep the audience comfortable. But the truth is never comfortable. Shame he did it.. and besides that weird part, I agree with you - it was a great show

and you know he fukked up as soon as he started that shyt off with "imagine being taught when youre young that when you walk pass a white man dont look in his eyes" or whatever.
homie... if you gotta be going through all that shyt with these demons, there is NO Care Bears teaching point in this story. sorry. maybe im just negative like that.
but i understand it was all part of the end game of the joke.
and was i trippin, or did he start the whole shyt off by picking out some random man from Iraq in the audience?

lol you're definitely not tripping breh.. I felt the same too. No care bears shyt necessary... some jokes can hit harder without the punchline. That love conquers all shyt been played out for too long now:aicmon:
And yep he did start it out with some dude who had been living there for 23 years :dahell: then they never showed him again :dead: weird ass editing

Alright. I've watched both. I think the "Bird Revelation" part was the weaker of the two. Was a little too much dialogue than I would I have liked. I think his 4 Netflix specials where good, but got a bit too in my face with social and political issues. I look at some of Dave's older work and it was straight comedy and observations. They were also a lot more laugh out loud funny jokes.

These specials have been tighter as a whole though. There were some good bits in these specials though. I think his first 2 Netflix specials were stronger though.

His first two Netflix specials had been brewing for years. I’m sure he had more time to tour them and perfect every joke.

Based on the references, the one he did in DC must’ve been toured between April and November. That’s only 8 months. And the second one was done during the sexual harassment scandal, on the day Charlie Rose was accused, so again he probably only had a few months to prepare.

The fact that he came up with such material in such a short space of time is amazing. Great stand up comedians take at least two years of perfecting their hour before releasing a special. It takes good comedians even longer.

I wouldn’t say he rushed these latest specials but I’m sure if he had given each another year to marinate they would’ve been tighter.
