It's crazy that in only like 3 weeks, Biden & Democrats went from being dead in the water to racking up multiple legislative wins & some momentum as a result, while the Republicans went from being in the driver seat to looking like dikkheads. All while Dark Brandon sat at the white house in isolation with covid the entire time.
-Dark Brandon authorizes the killing of the top Al-Queda leader. While I don't believe this does anything for him domestically (primarily because of Inflation and the war on terror importance isn't as strong as it was 10-15 years ago), it does add to the image of him being a foreign policy success and a strong foreign leader.
-Brandon signs documents for Finland and Sweden to join NATO. A big foreign policy success for Brandon and all the world leaders in NATO.
-McConnell, the Senate Republican Leader threatened to block passage of the CHIPS Act, a bill that throws 200 billion toward boosting domestic production of semiconductors in the US, added jobs and increases competition against China if Democrats were still planning on passing Biden's healthcare/economic/climate change bill on a party line vote. Senate Democrat Leader Schumer and Joe Manchin assures McConnell that there is nothing going on. Then right after the CHIPS Act passes, Schumer and Machin announce they have a deal.
-McConnell and Republicans then throw a fit at Schumer & Manchin's announced deal and block passage of the PACT Act. A bill that extends VA benefits to military veterans exposed to burn pits and other toxic shyt. A bill they had previously just passed, but because of a technical error they had to revote on it. Republicans claim they voted against it due to a technical change they didn't like. Jon Stewart flooded news channels, including conservative media and was outside the capitol building everyday with military veterans shytting on Republicans. Military vets were hot at what Republicans did. Republicans end up passing the bill.
-Manchin & Schumer's announced deal passes the Senate. It throws billions and incentives toward climate change, allows Medicare to negotiate some drug prices, caps insulin costs at $35 for people on medicare, 15% minimum corporate tax on companies making over a $1 billion and other shyt.
An amendment was added to the bill to cap insulin costs at $35 for people on private insurance, but the amendment failed because it needed 60 votes. 43 Republicans voted against it and they got a lot of shyt for it. Schumer says he's going to bring up the amendment again for a vote in September and that's smart politics because it puts Republicans on record again and will once again piss off alot of people who need that insulin.
-Gas prices have gone down for 2 months now and while its still too high in many states, the declining pattern suggest that by the Fall we should be good.
-Meanwhile cult leader Trump's property gets searched, and Republican officials have a 100% complete meltdown over this. Acting like straight babies and hoes and looking completely out of touch.
Dark Brandon's power was too much to bare because 3 people died from his lighting strike near the white house.
