The accent “issue” did not warrant a thread to be made. All OP did was give energy for the diaspora world nutcases to bicker back and forth throwing pointless jabs at each other :francis:

As far as the movie goes. I think it was just good for what it is being an HBO produced movie. No real big budget was put into this so I didn't expect Grade-A filmmaking.

I don't have time to write essays. Take any film with an ensemble cast and the best performances will more often than not be British

From Chaplin to Cary Grant to Olivier to Daniel Day Lewis all the way through. Actors like Gielgud, Richard Harris, Anthony Hopkins, Peter Ustinov, Sean Connery, Cumberbatch, Caine, Fiennes, John Hurt, Alec Guinness, Michael Gambon, Christopher Lee, Patrick Stewart, Tom Hardy, Ian Mckellen, Peter Cushing, Christian Bale, Sean Bean, Charles Dance, Bob Hoskins, Jeremy Irons, Alan Rickman, Ben KIngsley, Liam Neeson, Gary Oldman, Oliver Reed, Peter Sellers, Tom Wilkinson, Ian McGregor, Andy Serkis, Richard Burton, Peter O Toole,

Then you have the younger guys and the endless list of character actors and stars like Legolas, Jude Law, James McAvoy, Nicolas Hoult (Beast), Aaron Perry Taylor-Johnson (Quicksilver), Robert Pattinson, Kenneth Branagh, Bill Nighy, Tom Baker, Terrance Stamp, Derek Jacobi, Jason Isaacs, Brian Cox, Daniel Craig, Eddie Redmayne, Jamie Bell, Colin Farrell, Brosnan, Martin Freeman, Brendon Gleeson, Mark Strong, Simon Pegg, Hugo Weaving, Gerard Bullter, Sam Neill, Kiefer Sutherland, Clive Owen, Michael Fassbender, Ray Winstone, Hugh Lawrie, Mr. Bean, Henry Cavill, Ian Holm,

No Hannibal Lector, Highlander, James Bond, Schinldlers List, Picard, Magneto, Dracula, O-bi Wan, Alien(s), Loki, Die Hard, Gandhi, Gandalf ..

Imagine US actors trying to do this

America has nothing to compete with these guys.

And none of those pastys can do that

I would really like to understand what back and forth means when one side throws shots then hides their hands when they get a response. What are Diaspora wars?

At this point, people are being willfully obtuse and ignorant to the disrespect. It's not both ways. Educate and control foreign c00ns then we would be cool but people like you choose kid gloves while they talk crazy. We've tried to be cool on multiple occasions now they are truly exposing themselves

This was meant to be a major motion picture release by Warner Bros. Not an HBO movie

What accent did he have?

The accent sounds kinda forced but it's partly due to knowing thats an Englishmen acting. It's not as flawless as Snowfall.

It's a small part (imo) of a movie that isn't about him. The movie flew by a lot of shyt, I don't think this should've been a 2 hour movie. A story with this many layers should've been a mini series like When They See Us.

Except a Nigerian Brit is gonna play Marley in the upcoming biopic. :russ:

Like someone pointed out, it ain't like American actors have that 1960s Chicago accent either, ALL actors use a fake accent for their roles. That's why is "acting", it's always fake.

Did anyone have this energy when Forrest Whitaker played Idi Amin or when Daniel Day-Lewis played Abraham Lincoln? When Denzel Washington played a British soldier or, hell, when Sidney Poitier started in multiple major CRM roles including as a young black man from Chicago?

Most millennials have no idea what you’re referring to, so of course they didn’t have the energy. It’s on the directed group of people at the time to speak on those roles when the movie came out. fukked up accents from main characters can ruin the fukk out of movies. Will Smith in concussion made me turn the movie off. Queen and Slim was ok until they started arguing fat Luther vs skinny Luther in strong British accents.

Oh... you must be one of em...... :dead: I don't listen to 21 savage like that.... but I could tell off the rip he wasn't ATL proper.... :sas2: and aint a black Brit popping like Cheadle, Sam Jack, Larenz Tate, etc except for Chiwetel, who can act like a motherfukka.... it's plenty of talented American blacks that don't get the opportunity because white producers love everything that aint nikka associated......

It’s funny you mentioned Larenz Tate cause that was the choice I had in my head for Hampton when I first heard about this movie being made. He might have bodied the role and he’s from the Chi as well.
