If were being honest I'm sure a lot of us are more tired of discussing race than we care to admit it realize.

Y'all really enjoy that shyt? :usure: I know I been over explaining anything to white people. A lot of people talk about a "weight" being lifted off their shoulders when they take their first trip outta the states

NOTHING he said here is wrong. Bunch of folks in this thread are just seeking to be outraged. I mean you can disagree but this shyt is reasonable if its disagreeable at least

“It’s just boring to me. What’s the debate? I’m more of a doer. I’m just going to do what I want to do.”

Kaluuya added that he doesn’t want to become “the race guy” before pointing to his previous film and TV roles that had nothing to do with race or racial tension.

The Fades ain’t about race, Psychoville ain’t about race, Skins ain’t about race, Chatroom ain’t about race, Johnny English Reborn ain’t about race. But that almost gets erased. There’s a narrative that is pushed,” he added.

It’s a subject Kaluuya has addressed previously. In a 2018 interview with The Guardian, the actor explained that he finds it irritating how, as a successful black actor, he is expected to represent his entire race.

Thomas Markle 'hadn't noticed' racism aimed at Meghan
“I’m not a spokesperson; I’m an individual,” he said.

“Who’s the spokesperson for white people? There isn’t one. No one’s expected to speak up for all white people. I’m just living my life. I’m a black man, I’m proud of it, but I’m just living my life."

Kaluuya went on to say that he doesn't see himself as a" victim".

"You may victimise me, but you will not make me feel like a victim," he said. "And if you think you can, then what sort of person are you?”

You can acknowledge racism and racists exist without letting these forces dominate your life and everything you do.

I really feel him on the doer part. I'm the same way. I hate people who just sit around and talk about shyt and problems. My first question is always "WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT IT?". People who sit around always talking about the negative without doing shyt about it are unproductive and a drain. They are professional whiners and complainers and I got little tolerance for it and he doesn't either. For example. that story about the chick whining about white people moving away from black people. Instead of begging whites for acceptance, you need to start promoting and seeking out how you can find communities and create communities where you don't find the need to have white people around you.

This dude can make a movie about digging a hole and it sounds like certain people want to ask him as a black man what challenges do you experience trying to dig a hole. The nikka isn't going to wake up one morning and forget he is black. He lived his entire life being black and as far as the ADOS vs Non-ados angle people are trying to spin, the implication is that he doesn't have experience being a black man and because he is from england shyt is sweet which isn't the case.

I know this is the TLR, and folks use this section for race talk instead of The Root, but despite people online being all consumed with race every minute of their lives it seems online, in real life, there are many aspects and areas of life that are not attached to race that people like to enjoy and experience. If you constantly consume and stew in this shyt constantly, it will drive you nuts. Just like stewing in negativity constantly brings nothing positive to your life. You can't be all consumed with this shyt all the time and live a healthy happy life. Life isn't a TLR thread.

These entertainment negroes today are wired differently. Most ain't built for the struggle. Decadent veil, it is what it is.

I know as artists they just want to be judged by their work and their talent but this world ain't colorblind. We don't exist in a vacuum where the history of racism and oppression didn't exist.

It must be exhausting talking about it every itw even if your current film isn't about it. I feel him

Black people and celebrities always have to bring up their race and struggles in so many interviews. Whereas someone like Bruce Willis or Brad Pitt wouldnt even get a question about race in every situation. shyt gets tiring, and old. Dont forget who you are, but we shouldnt have to talk about the struggle all the time.
c00n bye yah:wow:

John Boyega has openly said he's proud of being a black man and stated publicly he loves black women on a cac talk show, acknowledges his African heritage openly and folks on here still hate him.

Daniel Kaluuya would have been attacked no matter what he said. That ugly crackhead looking c*nt Yvette Carnell couldn't wait to jump on this as well.
They are professional complainers that I mentioned. If someone says the sky is blue that they don't like, they will try their damnedest to say its not to spite the person who said it was blue. I really don't understand the "outrage" of what is stated here and in fact I remember making a thread about how sometimes I even feel I have to take a break from consuming racial issues all the time because that shyt will make you sad and depress to the point it can become a hindrance. I remember a lot of folks cosigning the sentiment so I don't understand the outrage of this dude basically saying the same thing. Especially if its coming up when he is doing interviews about movies that have nothing to do with race which is what he implied.

At least Yvette and Tariq types know this is their lane and appeal and use it as a way to garner attention and eventually maybe some sort of award like money as a result. Their motivation for their perspective is understandable.

DANIEL KALUUYA SAYS HE IS BORED OF TALKING ABOUT RACE: ‘I’M NOT DEFINED BY IT’

‘I’m just Daniel, who happens to be black,’ says actor

Daniel Kaluuya has said he is bored of talking about race and racial issues.

Speaking to the Radio Times, the British actor explained that he doesn’t want to be defined by his race or how it relates to his work.

“I’m not going to ignore that I’m surrounded by [racial issues], but I’m not defined by it,” the 30-year-old said.

“I’m just Daniel, who happens to be black.”

Kaluuya, who rose to fame after starring roles in award-winning films such as Get Out and Black Panther, went on to say that he doesn’t want to be pushed to become a spokesperson for black actors.

“It’s just boring to me. What’s the debate? I’m more of a doer. I’m just going to do what I want to do.”

Kaluuya added that he doesn’t want to become “the race guy” before pointing to his previous film and TV roles that had nothing to do with race or racial tension.

I understand what he is talking about. I feel like it's a nuanced issue. When you're a black actor, you are largely stereotyped into certain roles. He doesn't want his race to pigeonhole him when he has the talent to do any role.

On the other hand, when you do films like Get Out, Black Panther, Queen and Slim, and that Fred Hampton joint, you're going to be asked about it.

Overall, he wants the chance to play a diversity of characters and doesn't want his race to hold him back. Thats normal for any actor.

Eh I won't shyt on the man. He could just not talk about it or ask before the interview to not bring it up :yeshrug:

But the movies/shows he listed are not what his widely known for. Get Out, Black Panther, Queen&Slim, the upcoming Fred Hampton flick.. are the flicks his known for.. and they all deal with race
