People say *o you wont bang with a striker* like Glover and he does so
People say *o you wont grapple with a bjj black belt* like Vitor and he did so
People say *o you wont box with a boxer* like Gus and he did so

Jones likes to prove that he can do anything friend, and this may take him into an arena where he learns he, Cant do everything because Cormier has the 2nd best wrestling credentials in the UFC next to Yoel Romero. Cormier has also fought alot of tall opponents. This will be an interesting fight, friend.

I'm officially souped :lupe:

Cormier was at the world team trials in Vegas this year looking like he was scouting nikkas :whew:

Not like in MMA. And in the UFC the fights people originally booked are often scratched

Every fighter that is on a bellator/ufc level has a striking coach, a wrestling coach, a bjj coach and a strength & conditioning coach. That is a lot of work for a training camp, I would go as far to say it's overtraining. When you add in the fact that they are cutting weight during all this and it's a recipe for disaster. After seeing how these nikkas train I've always been adamant that they should be paid A LOT more, their camps can run up a big tab.

since zuffa introduced paying the fighters insurance scratches have been rampant

That's because a lot of fighters only have insurance on fight night, so they hide injuries and get a ton of shyt done in the emergency room that night. Zuffa probably realized it would be a lot cheaper just giving them insurance than dealing with huge emergency room bills the fighters were accumulating.

"overtraining" is just the nature of the beast. Hard to train for a fight and "go light" while grappling or wrestling. When i was training full time, I always had some type of nagging injury. Elbow pain, aching joints, fukked up fingers, etc etc.

"I was sparring and I felt my knee pop twice, but it didn't hurt, it just felt strange," Gustafsson told UFC.com. "I finished training and came home and then I woke up the next morning and I could barely walk on my right leg. Then I felt the knee right away."

"I'm disappointed I can't fight, but this is not the end, it's just the beginning," said Gustafsson. "I'm going to come back much stronger."

"It's an interesting matchup," Gustafsson said. "Both are great athletes and it's going to be a tough fight for sure. But Jones has his height and reach advantage over DC, so I think that will be the key thing in this fight. I think Jones by decision.

"I really want to fight him."

I don't see this fight going to the ground. Cormier will be the aggressor, so he'd be pressing more.

I have almost no doubt that Cormier will take Jones down, it'll be interesting to see Jones working off his back (or if he's able to spring right back up)
