IF, and that's a big IF, JBJ wins this fight by outwrestling DC, I would say it's his most impressive win yet.
i agree. and bones likes to do that type of shyt too. i dunno if that'll work against cormier though. we're talking about a dude that has ragdolled heavyweights. bones has crazy tdd but if anyone's gonna take him down it's dc...and if he gets a hold of bones, he's gonna put him on his back. i think he can hold him down too.
i think the real question is, will cormier even get a good hold of him, or enough opportunities to get a good hold of him, at least. bones is much taller and has a massive reach advantage and all that but more importantly for this fight, he's pretty evasive. his footwork is good, he angles off, he moves well...generally (combined with his distance) he makes it hard to hit him, let alone wrestle him. to me, that stuff is more meaningful cuz despite the height and reach bones has, i think cormier is quick and explosive enough to close the gap and get a grip on him. but if jones keeps it moving and doesn't give him a flat-footed, stationary target, it's gonna make it way more difficult for dc to wrestle him. and the less wrestling he has to do, the more likely he's gonna win.
but then again, we've seen bones is more than willing to play right into his opponents strengths and actually beat them at their own game. it wouldn't surprise me if he won the fight but it would surprise me if he invited cormier's wrestling and still shut him down.
