Tatum? Zo was the pick regardless and Kuzma made this a fairer deal than initially thought especially given how trash Mozgov is.

Russell isn't a PG, Tatum isn't that nice, and they got Kuzma who is arguably better. Ball still got a good 3 seasons to sink or swim.

Zo was coming regardless. and fukk no. many laker fans hated the trade...the mistake is becoming more and more obvious. we would be much better with russell
I believe Lonzo will be a plus shooter in time and I think he will be helped tremendously when they get a legitimate secondary ballhandler to let him play off ball more.
Russell was thought to have the ability to play either guard position but he is slow and a questionable decision maker. Better as a secondary playmaker.

So Lonzo will learn to score but Simmons, who is already a much more naturally talented scorer than Ball, can't learn to be be a plus shooter?

Ben has never shown to be a plus 3 pt shooter or FT shooter and his mechanics are awful too
Lonzo at least has a glimmer given his shooting at UCLA
And Ben isn't a "naturally more gifted scorer".....dude is just bigger, stronger and more athletic but his actual scoring arsenal is awful.
Ben would be ok cutting off ball but it comprised a much bigger part of Lonzo's offensive game. He needs someone to get him consistent catch + shoot 3s.

You don't need to be a pure point In the league. You need to be a combo guard who can shoot, play pick and roll and have solid passing and court vision ability.
Russell on this Lakers with this squad is a better team. Kuzma is the key
