Wait, Bron is actually a part of this discussion?

Do folks really think that man is leaving Cleveland at this point?

THATS WASNT MAGICS FAULT
NOR WERE THE MOZGOV/DENG CONTRACTS...

HES JUST TRYING TO CLEAN UP THE MESS.

I know the contracts weren't his fault but I'm not giving him credit for cleaning up a mess by making another one :hubie:. I know there are varying views of Russell's ceiling and impact but you don't trade a #2 pick 2 years later for a salary dump unless they're a bonafide Bennett level bust

That the Lakers found a way to get out of that horrific Mozgov contract is nothing short of amazing.

LWO should be ecstatic.

The Nets however...I don't see the upside here, unless they think Russell is a real star in the making.
He should be better than Jeremy Lin. That's the angle from the Nets since they basically gutted their future for those old Celtics players.

The fact that you got guys on here thinking that Russell is some asset to possibly get DeMarcus Cousins is all I need to see how delusional this fanbase is. Why leave it to chance when you can clear up the space to just outright sign Boogie or LeBron straight up?

What is wrong with some of you cats on here :snoop:

Not a great take by Max Kellerman and I am a fan of his.

Here is the problem with his angle and it's kind of the same situation in where I brought up the problems the 76ers have had all these years. You continue to talk about "they wouldn't be in this position if X and Y didn't happen" That doesn't matter to Magic or the Lakers at this point. It's THE FACT that they are in this position that matters and how do you cut yourself away from a bad situation as quickly as possible given the leverage that the organization has with a superstar player in Paul George and other potential free agents because of the history of the franchise AND Magic Johnson.

If they do NOT trade Russell and stuck with Mozgov's contract. Are you going to continue to look in hindsight and say it's a bad contract? Continue to eat the bad contract and not sacrifice one of your youngest pieces and potentially give up the opportunity to have 2 or maybe even THREE A-A+ free agents that still have great years to go? You STILL HAVE Ingram and the upcoming #2 pick (for now).

This is not checkers and I am a bit disappointed a smart cat like Kellerman is simply glossing over that fact by saying "Well if they did not do this etc etc" when the real world does not work that way. You are put in a position to fix the mess you inherited and Magic is slowly putting himself in a position in where he can contend in the next couple of years without completely giving up the future.

But hes not a bust and him and Lozo wouldve fit together.....
This s a L for the Lakers period:yeshrug:
You simply don't understand how the league works behind the court if you truly feel this way. This is becoming very evident. Magic was able to pull off this move because of his stature in the league. They got the better end of the deal and once PG and potentially another superstar is on the Lakers everyone will realize that the young kid needed to be sacrificed to stop the bleeding from a potentially catastrophic mistake by the previous regime.

This move was not necessary right now. Magic pulled this off because he gave a team ailing for some young talent a young talented palyer. He didnt finesse anyone.

So you WAIT for teams to reconsider that AWFUL Mozgov contract? Especially when they are literally days away from drafting a player with a higher ceiling than the one you are "giving up on"? :heh:

I would fleece the shyt out of all of you in trades
