nikkas reallu quick to forgot how Russell was looking at OSU. Always on the next new shiny object smh. If it wasn't for injury and shytty minutes managemebt by Luke, he would be had a great year. And he still had a solid year despite that. Could easily be a 24-5-5 guy next year if his spirit isn't broken
Fam.. if you going into your third year and we still talking about how you looked in college. We got some issues

:dwillhuh: But Brooklyn is in a position to handle his contract though, especially in exchange for a young player like Russel. They dont have to pay anyone anytime soon so they could afford to. They dont have any draft picks for now or the forseeable future so they need to basically amass either picks young stars like D-Lo. This is perfect for them.

:what:WTF were they supposed to do sit there with an expiring Brook lopez and hope they strike gold with the 27th pick?

You're not worried about if you're a rebuilding team lol. By the time Mozgov's contract expires, ideally D'Lo would have developed enough for the Nets to seriously build around him + 2019 pick through FA

Brehs, I addressed this already. I was saying that's why THEY thought it was horrible. See post below.

Guys, I agree with everything you've both said. Lakers utilized that asset of cap space BK provides. BK's price to do it was D. Lo. BK gets a good young player and Lakers get from under that crippling contract. I didn't say I thought it was a bad trade, I'm saying that's what Mike and Jemele thought was bad.

I am not sure why people are saying the Lakers lost here.

That Mozgov contract was going to cause problems in trying to build up their own super team. A young kid needed to be sacrificed and Randle was not going to get that kind of attention.

I hate this trade. I'm rooting for Russell in BK :martin:

I knew he was going to get moved but I held out hope that they would give him one more year.

He's going to blow up in Brooklyn.
And that's great now Lakers have cap room to get pg13 let that nikka rot in Brooklyn

Breh I'm BBB across the belly but DLo is better than those dudes. Sure Zo might be a better defender than him in the pros, but Russ can be a 1st or 2nd scoring option on a chip team.
No.

The guy might be a 40% career shooter and Lonzo will be the better passer out of the gate. Not a good sign when your "all-star" caliber shooting guard fg % actually DIPS in year 2 and will likely never be a pass first guard which will benefit the lakers more if all the plans keep pointing in the direction to get George and possibly LeBron soon.
