Nope. No sir. If the Uncharteds, Horizons, God of Wars, Spider-Mans, TLOU etc go the way of the dinosaur, count me out.
I'll find another hobby.
then it may be time to be out. but before you go just think about it like this. currently game dev teams produce things that make money and they copy each other and throw a little twist in it here and there. only a select few studios are willing to go out on limbs and attempt to create something new/different/very immersive.
Lets talk about the 2nd companies mentioned. Lets say if I told you they came up with a game with a very deep storyline that can't be fleshed out in a single player mode vs npcs. but it could be fleshed out vs other humans. I'm not talking capture the flag....blah blah blah generic bs. I'm not talking battle royale....
It is doable. the question is, are these devs willing to go there? because I'm kind of with all of you on this point. if they're going to keep making these stale online multiplayer experiences. yeah by all means give me a solid offline mode to play when i get bored quickly with the online version.
for example, lets talk GTA online. its decent but it could be WAYYYYYY better and much much much deeper than it is. someone decided to take a short cut on this one.
Why is the stock market still closed in the online version? I know why. because they dont want to deal with the online economy like that. including the shark card stuff. but there's a way around that too.
Why do they have generic Boss battles, where they just drop stuff for all to go get and fight over. we have our own businesses. we should be fighting over that stuff. not some generic drop.
Why is it when I'm doing a run moving these sports cars, the only thing another boss or player can do is blow the car up hurting me in the process, or stealing it and giving it to the cops more or less and getting a little Rep boosts. that aint realistic. If you jack me for one of those rides. its YOURS. thats how it should be. If you blow it up and the wrong people find out, you not only have a bounty on your head like john wick, but NPCs are constantly coming after you too in waves at different times in the game when you least expect it. you just stole some rich dudes 2 million dollar car you think he's going to let that slide? of course not. but if some boss steals it. he should be able to take it and add it to his collection. Same for anything being moved around. as of now GTA online is made for trolls. its setup that way. just troll people while they're doing jobs so you can get a little rep. Why do they pay your associates so little for non casino/non heist jobs? doesnt make sense. them boys should be getting a nice cut and it should be chosen by the boss. you want to low ball your wolves, thats on you. they'll leave you high and dry too and roll with another boss that pays them right.
