nikka Dame signed Kanye as a rapper when everyone was laughing behind Kanye's back whenever he rapped. Kanye himself said he felt bad for siding with Jay because of everything Dame did for him. FOH with that shyt.

And like @WeeBey Brice said....Kevin Hart got his first starring role from Dame.

Did Dame "create" these guys? No, nobody is "created" by someone else unless they're a fully manufactured industry plant, and who knows if those really even exist. But Dame was the FIRST person to give them a shot, and that means something.

State Property AND Dipset popularity was due to Dame, PERIOD. State Property having a clothing line and 2 movies is because of Dame.

Paid in Full, hood classic film, is because of Dame.

Does Jay-Z even start Roc-A-Wear if Dame isn't behind the scenes pushing so hard to diversify???

As since the Roc ended, Dame helped Rachel Roy do her clothing line. It sold for quite a lot. He also helped Curren$y advance his career (and then failed to pay him LOL)

Also, Dame's son is in his 20s and he's doing business as well. Not in music but i think food industry. Dame and his family are straight hustlers, period. Its beyond music, they're just business nikkas all around. His brothers, cousins, they all do business.

As far as Dame making a comeback, who knows if he even WANTS a comeback? He's pretty open that he doesn't fukk with labels or corporations, so he's going indie all the way no matter what he does. Im sure Dame knows he can't have another big rapper that way, so it is what it is.

We all know Dame and how his attitude fukked things up. Im not denying that. But to act like he didn't do nothing but piggy back of Jay, thats nonsense. Hov was struggling to find a fukking deal for years before Dame and Biggs put up the cash. U think Hov wanted to be 27 when his first album dropped? Doubt it.
Dame has you drinking his Kool-Aid he wants desperately to be on again but nothing is working out.

Dame has had so much shyt foreclosed on and repossessed. He's not even a multi millionaire anymore. If you think that dude is happy with his current position you are FOOLISH. Dame getting kicked out of everywhere for not paying his bills.

If you think, Dame blew a lot of money after The Roc was over and he got his 30 Million pay out by trying to keep up his appearance of wealth.

Dame messed up future business deals by acting like the Dame Dash still surrounded by talent like the top rappers and producers in the world.

He had a suit line that fukking went no where. He couldn't get NBA players like Allen Iverson to fukk with him even when the NBA created their dress code.

Dame ain't the post Rocafella success you think he is...

Go try to buy some of his motor oil.

Bleek gave Dame credit at the end of the interview as one of his favorite ceos though. I could see Dame being agitated that people always harp on him going off on people, especialy when they admit he was right. Its dames bridge to burn if he wanted to burn it by doing it his way. He seems to be okay with not seling his soul and playing nice with people, thats hard for a lot of people to understand.

What? Not selling his soul? Let's not pretend as him being an unapolegtic a$$hole who doesn't have people skills is him being some morally superior cat with too much integrity for the music game. His character has been questioned plenty.

name someone he crafted...
...or a business that he grew since Roc.

Kanye/Kevin Hart arent Dame creations...those dudes grinded and made their own way.

Im not a Dame hater...but he needs to be more self aware.
If he could slow down, admit some of his fuk ups, and be just a tad bit humble he would be able to come back...but nobody is going to give someone like him the time of day.
You don't create talent nikka but you do help it to reach the spotlight. fukk you talm bout.

Dame is a Harlem ass, fast talking hustler/swindler ass nikka who prides himself on being able to convince anyone of anything, I know his type, but one real thing he does say a lot that makes me :ohhh: is that in rap culture nigs stay talking about another person's business, even the artists themselves are wendy williams gossip queens, I used to never even think about it until he brought it to light. Way too many blogger/radio personality/podcaster/gossip girl ass people out here nowadays, even people who aint that try to be that, social media made everyone OD nosy. Dame's breakfast club interview was almost 100% about him only and he made it that way, :salute:. Sometimes I listen to these rappers/everybody tell stories about other people and I'm thinking "did the other person know or want this personal convo/situation to be revealed to the masses"? These negros talk way too much nowadays, shyt aint manly

So Cal
Dame signed everyone, he signed like 1 artist per month 95 % flopped or didn't drop.
He didn't push Kanye, he signed him. Jay let Dame and other executives handle artists signing and other day to day things. Jay was still the person that first invested in Kanye by giving him his first feature in 02, or it dropped the same time as Champions. Jay just signed of, cause as well all know he was the real boss, he and Def Jam.

And Dipsets popularity was due to themselves, dudes or at least Cam was a "star signing". For SP it was due to them being under The Roc and being skilled.

All the talk about Dame is like saying that Jay-z, Dmx and them were hot due to Lyor Cohen. He was an executive not a producer and like any high ranking executive at a hot company he was apart of the success. But some of the hottest executives in the game were on the Roc and at Def Jam as well, cats who are now some of the most respected in the industry. We're talking Julie Greenwald, Lyor Cohen, Kevin Lyles, Kyombo Hiphop, Gee Roberson, Jay Brown, Thomas Lytle, Lenny S, Sean Pecas, La Reid, Kyser, Juan Perez, John Menially and on. Some of which were schooled and signed by Dame.

Cats are trying to credit people too hard, just look at the line up of people do you think they were just sitting around rolling their thumbs? Some of the illest execs in music period, smh.
:skip:jay was so invested in kanye that he gave him an uncredited verse :childplease:nikkas ain't even know who that was. outside of jay the only nikkas going plat on roc was the dude Dame was signing, that's a fact.

Yet Biggs said that selling the Roc and cashing out was the plan from the jump.......

:leostare:

You nikkas don't really like or support Dame like that, not most of you. He's just an easy out for your hatred of Jay, I see you.
