Nobody really wants to leave, it's about doin what you gotta do. There's plenty of young family's who relocated because they couldn't afford it, they didn't "want too" so it's no diff...
Old people had they chance to build wealth and control their surroundings. shyt is hard on young people tryna make it too...
You 60 y/o you could of had 2 or 3 rental property's paying you every month and a million in equity between the property's. it's damn near impossible for youngins to jump in this real estate market, or even get a good job, that's who I feel sorry for

A lot of blacks in LA (such as myself) got money and moved to the burbs after the riots. the ones that didnt make money, took their family to colorado and arizona where real estate was cheap. The others that stayed had to deal with the mexicans and got overwhelmed. shyt happens.
Those black areas were once white. Instead of a white flight we had a black flight that's all.
Nobody 'owns' a hood. Gentrification is changing the landscape yet again. And 20 yrs from now, educated 3rd gen mexicans (who will be the clear majority by then) may very well take those, who knows. shyts always changing.

I was just disheartened, when I came back to LA and saw the unified presence we had, splintered and in my mind - for no reason.

Well I went to the ec for 8 years and when i came back The Crenshaw district was MEXICAN.You let them take Pacoima, the real LakeViewTerrace, and a gang of other black Valley spots. You let them make every LAUSD school mexican

I was in wayside, up in Santa Clarita, on a humble, talking to this cat about how much time he thought he was about to get.(Mind you, this nikka was respected as a shooter.) He told me because of his record and what he got caught for, he was sure the judge was about to give him a basketball number and that it was pretty much over for him. I asked, since you have no problem shooting, why didn't you shoot at the arresting officers. He looked at me like I was stupid and said "you can't shoot at the police like they regular nikkas cuh
