A lot of blacks in LA (such as myself) got money and moved to the burbs after the riots. the ones that didnt make money, took their family to colorado and arizona where real estate was cheap. The others that stayed had to deal with the mexicans and got overwhelmed. shyt happens.

Those black areas were once white. Instead of a white flight we had a black flight that's all.

Nobody 'owns' a hood. Gentrification is changing the landscape yet again. And 20 yrs from now, educated 3rd gen mexicans (who will be the clear majority by then) may very well take those, who knows. shyts always changing.

like downtown L.A. was a hell hole when white people flew in the 50's and 60's especially around my area of bunker hill which is pretty much nice now, plus the city place a cap on the price of rent these landlords can charge..

That's crazy, but I think Lancaster was mainly comprised of "lower income" white people, maybe about 10-15 years ago. Lancaster is literally in the middle of nowhere...
