Damn. Remember that black DJ from the Ellen Degeneres show? He killed himself.

On one hand, he works on Ellen and it’s an emotional estrogen filled environment everyday…on the other end he’s a family man doing all that family things. ‘Happy wife happy life’ is inherently toxic bc what you feel doesn’t matter. Him doing this after a wedding anniversary sadly is not a coincidence

Every man with a modern woman knows you kinda lose yourself, doin stuff for IG, taking pics, being extroverted, etc . Multiply that by 10 if you got kids. Maybe multiple more being on the show. It’s a high level of sacrifice and maybe that got to him. Just trying to make sense of it

R.I.P. I wonder if he had exhausted all means of trying to get help before deciding to end his life. I feel terrible for the kids, the 14 year old will understand it better than the younger kids that their father is gone. Right before Christmas too.

I'm gonna be honest with y'all, I used to watch Ellen as background noise working from home and he always seemed like he was putting on a happy vibe to please people. No one is always that happy, gleeful and go with the flow all the time. So while this is shocking to me it's not based on how he always seemed to be "on" all the time. Eventually that fakeness eats away at the person constantly putting on a front. Again, RIP to him.

Not for nothing, I'd like to know why

I always thought about how crazy it must be for people with certain personality types to be famous. A lot of people find themselves in certain positions due to circumstances beyond their control. You grew up poor, stumble onto a way to make money that ends up making you miserable. You were a private person but find yourself having to live an intensely and increasingly public life.

Combine that with brain chemistry etc. For some reason we can’t seem to fully accept that the brain is a body part, different in purpose from say a stomach but still subject to biological/chemical vulnerabilities. It’s hard for us to accept. Cancer tricks/convinces your body to attack itself. Mental/emotional thoughts etc emerge from the brain, so they have some biological basis. One minor tweak and things come out very different. One gene turned on or off and you’re a hemophiliac or have red hair or are lactose intolerant or are born with almost superhuman endurance or the ability to multiply large numbers almost instantly or are allergic to shellfish etc.

Damn RIP to the bruh. Just another reminder to check on your peoples. No matter how strong we all think we are, a person's mental can definitely be challenged in this crazy-ass world we're living in. Stay strong.
Especially important man to man.

I just got back from a funeral for a homie who lost his son. The women around him come with a different type of energy. It’s needed when it’s neded, but the only time you saw him smile and even laugh and feel a release was when he was surrounded by his nggas. We need that type of energy around us

We are not built to be how modern society wants us which is emotional and crying 24/7 and basically being more like women. From the outside looking in, it looks like this man was surrounded by women 24/7
