Damn. Remember that black DJ from the Ellen Degeneres show? He killed himself.

Depressive, suicidal thoughts are like an invasive species living in your head. You can be playing basketball, writing, working, playing with your kids, whatever and they'll find a way to ruin your mood. Their whole purpose is to take away your joy. Fighting those thoughts is like being in a never-ending boxing match with prime Mike Tyson, but he's not even trying to knock you out, just punish you as much as possible. With every blow your opponent hitting you with is devastating but you can't even touch them.

It don't matter how tough you are, eventually that type of punishment with wear you down.

Years ago, I had to entertain/distract 3 teens whose father had just committed suicide. Admittedly, I did a shytty job. I didn’t know what to do with them or where to take them, so I just got them in my car and started driving. Long story short, I’ve never seen 3 kids look so lost and confused before.

I remember thinking back then that next to cheating on your wife, suicide is the WORST and most selfish thing a man can do to his family. That thought in that moment has always stuck with me. Those kids will never have the opportunity for a normal life and neither will their kids as a result. It’s like killing your family’s future.

Anyway, prayers for the family. Whatever HE was going through, the way he chose to deal with it wasn’t worth it. Kinda goes along with my post in the Michelle Obama thread yesterday about black men being told they’re only entertainers and slaves. You could see in his eyes in his last instagram post that he was fighting something. No smile can hide that.

Damn.

For real? What you make you say that? :lupe:

It's all in the smile and eyes. Yes, there are folks that are naturally joyful, but there's some that hide in a persona. A mask to cope with the grim reality that they are not okay. People who are genuine with their joy know when to cut it off at dire times. A person that uses the joy as a mask end up being stuck in that mental tomb.

ya I heard someone describe it that way once…it was a forum “troll” but it turns out dude was just really going thru it…but it was probably the most sincere thought he shared…just said for him it’s literally an every day struggle waking up to thoughts of killing himself…some ppl might have a rough day/time…then they go to bed and wake up refreshed and ready to tackle their problems…for someone whose mind works a different way, they never get the mental refresher…the thoughts just become worse and worse…I’m not saying everyone who’s suicidal goes thru this thought process as I can’t speak to that…but what he said definitely offered me a new perspective that I hadn’t considered

Above the fray.
Right before the holidays. So sad. Those poor kids will never be the same.

Some of you all need to just learn to say RIP and keep it moving. Joking about the death of someone, who to the best of my knowledge bothered no one, is tasteless. The older you get the more common death becomes. No need to make light of it.
People are always going to be who they are. Mods allow everything to fly here , so Ignore List is the only way to avoid those types of comments.

Damn this is so sad.

I used to love watching him on So you Think You Can Dance. He went from being a participant and became a recurrent figure in the following seasons as a veteran, he even ended up as a judge. Seeing him end up on Ellen was a crazy come up, breh had a good personality and seemed like a good dude.

I feel so sorry for his wife and kids. :to:

RIP Twitch.

I never had suicidal thoughts, thankfully. But those depressive thoughts were annoying as hell.

You can score like 30 points in a pick-up game, feeling all good about yourself :obama:

Then comes those hating ass thoughts like: :comeon: "Whatever nikka, your music still sucks and you ain't never gonna be shyt in life" :unimpressed:
