Damn. Remember that black DJ from the Ellen Degeneres show? He killed himself.

RIP.

People really don't know what some folks are going through.

Big success also means big bills which means big anxiety, especially when the checks stop coming in or shrink significantly.

His wife said he was the family's "backbone", so I think dude had a lot of financial responsibility and if those weren't as stable as they once were that's always stressful.

I am saying the same thing, something is a bit off, I just seen buddy in a tiktok video 2 days ago dancing, etc. You don't go from that to this. Something is missing.

I’m a huge Soundgarden and Linkin Park fan. Chester had a photo with his fam smiling and later that day committed suicide. Chris wife said she talked to him and he was in good spirits and just tired and then he committed suicide.

You really never know what people are thinking and have been planning

I'm gonna be honest with y'all, I used to watch Ellen as background noise working from home and he always seemed like he was putting on a happy vibe to please people. No one is always that happy, gleeful and go with the flow all the time. So while this is shocking to me it's not based on how he always seemed to be "on" all the time. Eventually that fakeness eats away at the person constantly putting on a front. Again, RIP to him.
Man. I literally typed ‘always being on’ but my post was too long so I deleted. That’s real.

The first instinct is to feel that because he had kids, it's an extremely selfish act. However, I'm going to assume that he loved his kids with all his heart. Given that, it shows just how pervasive suicidal thoughts can be in an individual. He likely fought it long and hard if for no other reason than for his family's sake, but couldn't any more. It is indicative of how people really need to try to get help the moment these thoughts start to crop up. Sadly, the reality is that even help won't save everyone. The human psyche is a complex one, and some individuals won't be able to slay their demons no matter how hard they try.

I’m not anti suicide and deal with depression with the worst of them but I will never forgive killing your self with young kids. Everybody got a mom, dad, siblings whatever that are family. But kids are family that YOU made.

RIP and I hope his family can heal. You never know what people are going through

Youngest child was born in 2019. :francis:

Black men. Black women. Black children. Take care of yalls mental health man.

The sad thing is that his kids will now have to pick up the pieces and struggle with his death and growing up without a father for the rest of their lives. This is also likely to impact their own children in the future. Multi generational pain born from this one act. It's sad. If he truly understood the magnitude of killing himself, I don't think he would've done it.

But that's the thing with severe depression, it clouds your mind.
