Damn. Remember that black DJ from the Ellen Degeneres show? He killed himself.

Social media is a myth. This is why I don’t even partake in it anymore.

Dude was sad for some reason, but kept a smile for the public.

Goodness knows what was going on in his head. But RIP and I hope his wife, kids and family can seek some peace at some point.

I aint gonna act holier than thou in here because i was shaking my head in disgust when I saw him sliding across the floor dancing with his girl last christmas, in whatever insta post that was. RIP to the breh but seeing as this was not a natural death, my mind leads me to why. He certainly went out of his way to portray this super positive life. Is it fair to his fans, friends and his family that he led us to believe it was all good?

People probably never checked in on him because his insta was all smiles. And he had this whole blackish lifestyle going on. Fukk it ima just say it, there's def something to learn from all this IMO, and it ain't just "check on your mental health brehs". But obviously I've never been in that situation so ima chill.. and you wont catch me there either, dancing on social media with a pawg and acting like shyts sweet. Somebody gonna know goddamn it. At least leave a note.. his kids will be wondering why for the rest of their lives.

are you saying we should be more vulnerable with our loved ones when we are suffering?

Nah ive been known to suffer in silence. Although i don't have a wife and kids. I'm saying putting out all this information about your life to make it seem like we shouldn't be worried about you and everything is good is in itself unhealthy. Especially when you have mental health struggles that aren't being shown at all. Add in these over the top displays of positivity and I honestly feel like its a slap in the face to the people that care about you.

That's just me though. Growing up hearing people say your Dad was always happy go lucky and he dies in the most self destructive way possible. How they supposed to make sense of that? Robin Williams daughter spoke on this, I'll try to find it.

You see it too?

I swear, social media is like the weird mirror house for society. Folks assumed there's a happy family because of a TikTok dance and etc. Yet, behind the camera:

  • Family is in crazy debt
  • The father is a crazed gambler
  • The mortgage is long overdue
  • The wife suffers from personality disorder, ADHD, and a troubling past
  • The son struggles in school
  • The daughter struggles with her mental state
  • The neighbors usually hear fights at the same time…9:22pm on a Wednesday
But, folks will continue to con the word with inspirational quotes, dumb ass dances, and all sorts of coping nonsense in reality they are internally screaming. CH said it best:

Hence why social media is mostly fake. People posing the life they want it to be like, not what it actually is.

Thats why im off it.
