Do you not think he will be a double double C in a season or 2? What more do you want? No expected him to be an all star (he may be one year in the trash east with their lack of centers)
Nope, he won't be a double double player in a season or two, there were only 9 guys that did that this year.
And if he's the starting center for the Cavs in a season or two, the Cavs will be in terrible shape. I ask again, what makes him different from Ed Davis, who posted similar stats last year on a much better shooting %.
Ed Davis as a rookie - 8ppg/7rpg/1bpg 57%

In spurts he was very effective but he's young and an offseason can take care of that
I am still asking how Thompson was a stupid pick given who was still on the board.
Fam, you can say the exact same thing about Ed Davis, what is the difference between the two players, hell they're both lefties as well
Davis went 13th, about where Tristan should have gone.
I already answered that, Jonas or Biyombo would have been better picks.
Biyombo is going to be a perennial DPOY candidate in a few seasons.
They were different drafts.
Thompson had better numbers than Biyombo, and Jonas has yet to play one minute in the NBA.
Faried has far more talent around him so he couldn't produce like thompson who was with irving and a bunch of scrubs,
Based on what was available at 4 last year they made the correct pick...the only arguable player is Jonas. And they were not willing to wait.
David Thorpe's re-draft had Tristan going #2.
Rookie Watch: Redraft!
No. 1 pick: The Cavaliers select Kyrie Irving
No. 1 pick in actual 2011 NBA draft: Kyrie Irving
Viewed by most people as the top prospect in this class back in June, Irving has not disappointed. In fact, he's probably been better than anyone expected considering his injury at Duke and the lockout. He's had a terrific rookie season by anyone's standards.
Not only is he the best player in this group, but he also has the brightest future. That's what a team hopes to get from a No. 1 overall pick -- impact now and more impact later.
No. 2 pick: The Timberwolves select Tristan Thompson
No. 2 pick in actual 2011 NBA draft: Derrick Williams
This is not a slight on Derrick Williams but rather a dream of featuring powerful bigs Kevin Love and Nikola Pekovic with an athletic and long phenom like Thompson. As good as Minnesota's two brutes are, they are still below-the-rim players, which is not an issue for Thompson.
Although Thompson is still a raw player on offense, he would be helped by Rick Adelman's system. He'd be bad today, amazing tomorrow.
that mock draft has the wolves taking tyler zeller at 18???
Not the worst thing honestly. I couldn't even be mad at them if they did that.
You sound like someone who didn't watch Faried play at all.
I have seen Faried play and the Nuggets spread the ball to the point that on any given night you don't know who there primary scorer is.
Faried doesn't even get his on points from any plays being run for him. He's 100% hustle and is a definite problem that has to be accounted for.
