You can make individual excuses for each person, and I'm sure that's what they all do and what the company does, but the fact of the matter is that they REFUSE to promote any black wrestlers are serious or threatening in any way.

Swann is ultra talented but dancing way too much. Big E is entertaining...That's cool. But I pointed this out recently...Blandy, Cena, and Elias are types outsmarting and looking good in confrontations while Cedric gets owned by Cass jobber Enzo. Finn can fight off Joe by himself...but Titus gets his ass whooped in seconds:laugh: Vince and Stephanie really selling pretty boy easy living white boys as tough and dangerous...Lol!!!

This is pretty much the heart of it. They constantly emasculate black men in the WWE.

It's a racist company, through and through. And I actually think it will get worse under Hunter/Steph.

some of the biggest stars they ever had did nothing but ride the waves of black culture

like enzo currently as funny as he can be is a waverider like a young black cat couldn't pull off that angle but with 100% more authenticity and the blackleticism to push it over the top

they are hilariously biased over there

:jbhmm: I think this is more a case of Verifiable c00ns vs Gimmick based c00n-like Behavior. U would say most but not all fall in the 2nd category.

Remember when New Day first started and they were actually on some empowerment shyt?

:jbhmm:

It wasn't until they started shucking and jiving doing male twerking fakkitry did they take off.

:dame:

Both were gimmics, the last one was hella offensive to manhood.

Verifiable c00ns in my mind:
Deny their heritage
Talk bad about their race for others approva
Put other ethnicities over their own.

Yes there are some that have done this.

Has the New Day done any of this though?

Are actors in movies c00ns? Or actors in TV shows? Are dancers? Because if so shouldn’t we make the claim that all black entertainers who smile and laugh and entertain are c00ns?

Just because we enjoy wrestling doesn’t make wrestling anything more than it is: a scripted television show :yeshrug:

Wrestling is not meant to be a black form of entertainment... it's racist at worst and dismissive of black people at best. I (as a black wrestling fan) have to acknowledge it when I watch. It's NOT based on athletic merit, it's NOT meant to be "equal"...it's a show written by majority white writers for a majority white audience.

Shucking and jiving has always been c00nery :comeon:

They wouldn't get this push if they weren't dancing for the white man and they weren't getting a push when they didn't do that

Majority of the black wrestlers personas or gimmicks in WWE are based on stereotypes of black people

I know. That's why I wrote (pretty clearly) "Wrestling is not meant to be a black form of entertainment...it's racist at worst and dismissive of black people at best"

I also wrote "As a black wrestling fan I have to acknowledge it (the racism) when I watch"

What is the difference between Samuel L Jackson playing a house slave in Django Unchained and New Day dancing around? Is it because they are in these gimmicks for a longer amount of time than one movie? Is it because Samuel L gets to take other roles and they don't?

In either situation, it's a black man portraying a character. Big E is a dancing goofy but tough wrestling character...he's an athletic actor. It's a character.

Like I mentioned...the genre is NOT particularly favorable toward black people. If they choose to get into the genre, that's their choice. If we continue to support the genre (by watching, commenting, etc.) that's our choice. Is there something inherently "c00nish" about it... maybe...I don't know. But it's no MORE or LESS c00nish than any other actor portraying a c00n.

All actors have the choice to say no to a role. If an actor chooses to play a role that's a "c00n" is that "c00ning"? Personally, I can't call it.
