this dude is palling around with all these libertarian conservatives
poor white people--like many poor people--don't vote because they correctly realized the system doesn't work for them.Yeah, it's why all these white elites are never getting reelected.
Do the facts support that?poor white people--like many poor people--don't vote because they correctly realized the system doesn't work for them.
The MAGA whites you see on cameras are mostly middle class.
One, this is just one state. I don't know how it is in other states and we haven't seen any data yet. But more than that, last year was basically the first time that happened since another transformational election in 2008. (Obama presidency, COVID19/Get Trump the fukk out/absentee ballot voting).
Do the facts support that?
West Virginia is at the heart of Appalachia, which is poor white central.
Article from one of the media outlets there said that there was record voter turnout for the state in 2020.
West Virginia Election Results Finalized—Big Turnout, Clean Election - WV MetroNews
In fact, the Appalachia region was solidly red, and I'd guess that voter turnout peaked in those counties in 2020.
Poor whites are MAGA, breh. Probably make up a sizable % of Trump followers.

The trends show that since 1984, poor people do not vote at the same rates as people in higher income brackets.
Lower income peopleWhen you say "poor people" as opposed to the working class who are you talking about?
nikka, shut up. You don’t like lower class and poor people and have said since you started posting in this section.*I said that the other counties in the states that make up Appalachia probably had peak turnouts due to MAGA, like WV did.
You implied that MAGA wasn't made up of poor whites. Trump galvanized that segment of the country by exploiting their resentment of Obama as their president. The LBJ quote comes to mind .
I’ll tell you what’s at the bottom of it,” he said. “If you can convince the lowest white man he’s better than the best colored man, he won’t notice you’re picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he’ll empty his pockets for you.”
Interesting that the title of the study you linked was "unleashing the voting power of poor people". Among other things, that's what Trump has been able to do.

i suggest watching it and seeing if the things they say are intriguingToure Reed oh great another class reductionist piece of shyt
Yes they do. Trump’s success with poor whites was notable because they don’t normally vote, just like poor people of all races. Trump got an uptick in poor whites in many states, but poor whites still vote at much lower rates than middle class ones. Trump’s base of support is middle income and upper middle income whites..
