No fukks given by MTA :heh: and Cuomo has to have some ownership in an LED company.

lol, Brehs LED game is strong as fukk, everything gets LEDs and lightshows :russ:

Drove across the new Tappan Zee on Monday and only one span is open still but :ohlawd:

I was in one of the renovated stations in I guess Bay Ridge or Sunset Park recently and it turned out nice.

I think the problem is they somehow thought they could just go in an put new floors, WiFi, and LEDs and shyt but they forgot there are leaks and the the iron beams are literally rotting. :krs:

Now y'all want to find out why?

I'm fine with that and hope it will be useful. At the same time even private projects cost a lot more in NYC... I hope the GAO isn't under some allusion that projects in NY will cost the same here as they would elsewhere.

I'm just saying, that sounds like a study that should've been decades ago and repeated every 10 years.

Funny shyt about this article is that they only list the stations that were fixed. They ain't want the heat that would've come from naming the 13 that were pretty much abandoned until 2020.

lol right. I'm sure you can find out what ones were missed from when they originally released the masterplan.

They have been doing a lot general work at stations though... paint, tiles, fixing leaks, and I think everyone has cell/wi-fi now.

Even the stations where I live are in a lot better shape than they were 2-7 years ago.

Too many hands in the pot I figure and this stood out to me

"The federal inquiry is a milestone in more than a year of stop-and-start efforts in Washington to address the costs of transit construction. The Senate inserted the request for the Government Accountability Office study in its spending plan last year, but it was stripped out in negotiations with the House".

Well we all know how much congress accomplished when Obama was in office. The other thing that I always think is worth pointing out are the financial crises that occur ever so often on the national/state level that delay projects and lead to them costing so much. If these projects were completed when they were envisioned they would've cost pennies on the dollar.

Have you read the history on this shyt?
The line was originally proposed in 1919 as part of a massive expansion of what would become the Independent Subway System (IND).

NEW YORK—In response to numerous complaints regarding recent delays and route changes to the city’s public transportation system, Metropolitan Transportation Authority officials at a press conference Monday reminded residents that they can fukking walk. “While we always do our best to avoid inconveniencing our customers, city residents should be aware that at any time, they are more than welcome to get off their asses and use their two fukking feet to reach destinations,” said MTA spokesperson Reggie Dawes, adding that the city’s comprehensive street grid system is easily accessible on foot “for any lazy b*stard” and should be used as an alternative method of transportation if customers are unable to wait “10 extra goddamn minutes” for their train or bus. “We apologize to anyone frustrated by interruptions in service of our incredibly intricate 24-hour transportation system that provides fast commutes in relative ease and comfort, but remember, you can always just shut the hell up and take a fukking hike. You know what else connects to major locations all over the city? The sidewalk, you ungrateful pieces of shyt.” At press time, the MTA announced that multiple train and bus lines were running behind schedule and stressed that if commuters didn’t leave early enough or plan accordingly, it was not their fukking problem.

Saw this excellent video made by the NYT that explains this will fiasco. In short the MTA is in debt to its eyeballs to Wall Street banks, politicians thinking short term and outdated switching systems from the 1930s.
