Who told you this lie?

Some of the workers on ships of the multiple cruise I've been on who lament about the whole experience but it being the only stable work a lot of them can find.

Not to say its a blanket statement for 100% of an entire industry but there are plenty of articles out there with cruise workers telling their accounts that highlight what I'm saying.

Working anywhere from 2-8 months at a time at sea, 7-12 hours a day for 7 days a week?

Most normal mf's get stressed out at ya typical 9-5.

I guess everyone got their stories.... but I got 4 folks of mine who signed up for that life and love it.... AND I MEAN LOVE IT....... it's an easy industry to walk away from since the it's highly seasonal so I'm not sure why the people you spoke with feel that way....

Cruise ship personnel are lowkey some of the most depressed folks out there. Away from their home and family for extended periods of time. Have to put on and perform for a bunch of thankless passengers who rush to the help desk to get gratuity taken off the last day before unloading.

You add in some covid restrictions and you asking for a disaster like this.
I went on my first cruise last year, you ain’t lying

Well, I dont know where your people hail from but a lot of the ones I run into are from foreign places where the economy aint booming like that which I'm almost certain plays a large part in things. But, if you a regular mf from here in the States, I could easily see how it would be sort of a temporary "dream job" knowing the endless possibilities you get to return to with plenty of options.

Man...i was on deployement from jan-august with no port visits out to sea the whole time during the pandemic. I worked everyday all day on a fukkin ship. No days off literally. Boots on everyday, sleeping in a small ass rack everyday straight until it was time to pull in from deployement. That shyt was ass. Nobody went crazy surprisingly. I wonder what was the difference :francis:
The difference was you signed up for it and your whole unit was prepared for deployment. Yal had purpose, teams, insurance for your loved ones, etc :francis:

Nobody on those ships was prepared to be treated like the cause of a fukkin plague and stuck in international waters staring at walls. It doesn't take long at all to break someone.

Give me food and internet I will make it and you could probably convince one of the females to fukk I'm not killing myself that's for damn sure.
And they couldn’t mingle. Strict lockdown. So the fukking to pass time comments in here is retarded. They think it was like home alone 2 and they were getting VIP treatment to everything the cruise had to offer :mjlol:

I don't want to spend an extra 5 minutes with my coworkers :dead: being stuck with them for weeks while getting pump faked by the CDC, every business associated with my paycheck, and the United Nations repeatedly? Shiiiiit I might have jumped too.

:ohhh:Yooo the first guy died like D'angelo supposedly died in the Wire. I didn't even know it was possible to die from hanging yourself from a doorknob

You would think the mechanics of it wouldn't let it happen because most average sized men are going to be too big for a doorknob to lift them off the floor.

But this is insane that these people weren't allowed to go home. I hope the families get these cruise companies for everything they're worth

First thing I thought of :dead:

They obviously weren’t allowed to interact with the other crew members, which is why they were quarantined in their rooms. Had they been able to sneak some “quality time” in, maybe they wouldn’t have off’d themselves. Plus, I don’t think all of them had rooms with windows. So imagine being stuck in a room with no windows, internet cut off, same food all the time, no human contact.
You tripping....I’m a simple man, i don’t need much...I’m still fukking something.
