I’m doing the missions and leveling up like crazy. It’s addicting. I like this game a lot.

The combat and mission structure you can tell its an older handheld game. Im still really liking it though.

They did a great job remastering. Especially the environments look incredible.

Its awesome seeing all the characters from ff7. Its must play for anyome into ff7 and especially the remake.

Got this on Wednesday for my birthday. Played the original PSP version but never actually finished it.

This shyt is piff so far. Zack>>>>>Cloud as a protagonist
Been saying this. Zack fathered his whole style. Hopefully he has a bigger role in rebirth

playing this now, its nice they updated the graphics instead of making it just a resolution boost. woulda been nice to use new CGI tho for the cutscenes.

Just met Cloud. done a bunch of side missions with Yuffie too.

Playing on the PS5, they did nothing Duelsense wise. just the standard feedback upon attack just like a Switch Pro Controller.

The story is cool. I remember the overall plot but I had forgotten a lot of the details. I only played through the OG once when it came out and never again.
Problem with this game for me is I jumped into it the following day I had finished the Yuffie DLC. Not that, that would change a lot, but it doesn't help.

I'm enjoying the game overall but the gameplay absolutely shows it's age. It's a nice mix up of action and rpg but even with some pretty good materia, most fights are playing out the same exact way. I'm playing the game on hard and so far it's been pretty easy with some random difficulty spikes here and there. I've been doing all of the side missions and it really sucks that they take place in the same few maps.

Graphics wise, some of the cut scenes look dated and oddly enough, the gameplay sometimes look amazing and other times it looks like psp graphics. It's almost like they spent more time improving the graphics on some areas and on others not so much.

In the end the game is probably gonna sit at a 6.5-7/10 for me.
I think $50 is a little more than it's worth. $40 would be the appropriate price IMO. At $50 it puts it too close to the remake and I don't think they belong in the same category. In alot of ways, this game plays like a free to play monster hunter.

beat it. Story is ass, dialogue is ass, a lot of the voice acting is ass.

Genesis is a cornball try hard.

level system is stupid, its basically a slot machine praying u roll a triple 7 from the DMW. same with leveling materia, just annoying.

graphics are fine, but the non updated CGI cutscenes really show their age.

extremely repetitive gameplay, but its serviceable. magic is OP.

music was solid.

there was so much nonsense in this game from progression to story I kept asking myself "who the fukk signed off on all these decisions?"....then I got to the credits and see "Director/Program Lead Tetsuya Nomura. Of course. Of fukking course. A game chock full of nonsense? Very on brand for him, I shoulda known he was behind the fukkery.
