how you gonna DIE from a controlled 50ft drop?
i would def fukk up my arms and legs but i aint dying.

I do work in a boom lift regularly for work and 50 ft is a lot higher than it sounds when you’re actually up there. I don’t have an issue with heights but I feel like most people falling from that height have a good chance of croaking

50ft is a five story tall building.
if you fall unexpectedly then yeah, you can die.
but if you are dropping from a controlled fall you
can absolutely mitigate the damage at the expense
of your limbs. take a deep breath before you hit and
try to roll with the landing best you can.

1.8 meters per second squared is the rate of acceleration.
i'm not a thick breh so the kinetic energy i would have to deal
with would be at the lower end of the spectrum.

going back to the fact that this is a controlled fall, i would be
spread eagle the whole way down to maximize air resistance
until the last moment, then roll into the fall and absorbing all the
damage with my limbs...thus living.

The unknown
i used to go to Rye Playland when i was a kid, just north of the Bronx.
my Abuela happened to be with us that day, i remember because she
was sitting next to me on this ride:

i present to you The Hammerhead.
i gotta guess that i was like 6-8 years old, no idea how i passed the height requirement.
got in and my grandma is sitting next to me and as soon as we get past the 90 degree point
i realize that i'm in mortal danger. grandma no habla english and i don't speak spanish so i'm
not trying to waste precious energy in explaining to her that i am in no way, shape or form secured
to this seat.

gma is gasping for air (she had asthma).
we eventually get to the upside down part, one of many.
yo...i gripped onto my seat guard that was supposed to hold me in for dear life.
every time we went upside down i knew that if i let go i was gonna fall to my death.
my ass was waaaaayyyyyy off the seat when we were upside down and my little ass
was absolutely gonna slip through if i let go.

shyt was crazy.
i think this is the first time i have spoken about this.

:ohhh: breh.....

Na I’m fukkin with you. They actually have completed studies related to this and ppl survived at much higher falls. It comes down to deceleration and pressure so you’re correct

I have a feeling most people who would end up in this sort of situation ain’t gonna be pulling all that off in a split second
