Why not? Minimum would be 15k between both.

I just need like 3k to use to purchase my products and it would raise my credit limit/lower my utilization.
Because the benefits overlap and youll be paying an extra annual fee for no reason.

CSP IS 2x on food and travel, 1x on everything else
CSR is 3x on food and travel, 1x on everything else

There is no scenario where having the CSP benefits you if you also had the CSR. You'll be better off getting the Freedom Unlimited which is 1.5 back on all purchases for non-food/travel purchases, then transfer those points to the CSR card

Yeah, but am I guaranteed at least a 5k minimum limit with the Freedom Unlimited card?

If the CSR has a cap on the 3x then the CSP would come into play but at least for a year you could get 3X Chase Points on the Freedom Unlimited card anyway right?

Applying for both the CSP and CSR would really burn you on the 5/24 rule with Chase though. Chase will only allow you a new card if you're under 5 new cards in a rolling 2 year period.

Was thinking about applying for that one too. What limit did they start you at?
There's no preset spending limit since it's a charge card, so theoretically I can't max it. In reality they have a some caps that they don't tell you about, from what I've read. I saw a figure in my account that was $4k, so that could be when they cut me off. I don't think I'll ever have that much on it at any of time though. I read that your caps fluctuate based on your average expenditures over the past 6 months.

Got bored and increased the credit limit on my Amex from 10k to 12.5k. I only have the $30 recurring payment for my Universal Studios annual pass on there plus the rare Starbucks card reload when I get something from there. So I was like fukk it why not. :manny:
