No reason in particular. Just have a good rep in the investment world. Fidelity or Merril Lynch or Charles Schwab or any of the others would be just as good.

What made you decide to put so much behind VEA?
Wasn't up to me. At Betterment you just give them money and tell them how aggressive you want to be with it. They do all the allocating for you. Very easy. Not really good if you like being "hands on". But I can't complain about 50% return.

I just invested 480.00 into Fidelity. I have my 401k with them as well. Recurring deductions of 100.00 monthly. Mutual funds are a minimum 2500.00 buy in, but they have stocks, ETF, bonds, etc. for a first time investor into a ROTH account. When you guys started off, what did you start buying into if you don't mind my asking. I want to invest for LONG TERM, but I'm willing to take a risk as well.

You can do a backdoor Roth if you make too much. Open an IRA, then roll it over to a Roth immediately. There's some caveats but it works.
