ROTH IRA is basically cheating. Plus they raised the contribution limit to $5500/yr :ohlawd:

Eventually I wanna get to the point where I can open up a SEP IRA.

Problem with roths is if you make more than 116k single or 185 married filing joint u can't use a roth...

Also people in higher tax brackets also beware that your tax deduction disappears on a traditional ira if your over the limit....

People should for the most part contact a financial professional before they fool with investing unless your under 20 and just want to but index funds and deal with their unmanaged performance. That's fine if you have an Outlook of 20+ years but if individuals are older or are investing after tax dollars i.e. from savings accounts and don't have a LONG TERM window they need to be careful and talk to a professional.

Any dormant funds go escheated to the state your living in.

Usually if you Google "your state" unclaimed funds it will lead you to a site. Input your name etc and it will show if it was surrendered to state. Each state has different procedures to retrieve the money. I can speak for MD it is a bit of a hassle.

You just thrown in a percent of each check & don't look at it?

Right now I'm putting 0% in cause me and my girl investing in our business. If this shyt work out like I'm expecting..............:wow:

Breh, keep your expenses as low as humanly possible. No matter how much you end up making stack your paper and learn the power of investing.

Once you see your money making money ain't no way to go back :whew:

I don't have one just a checking account and investments. My checking is basically my savings.
I'm the same way. Even interest bearing checking accounts are ass right now.

I have a Safety Net goal on Betterment, so I'm going to use that for "saving" right now, but most of my money will just stay in checking.

@bdizzle @BaldingSoHard and anyone else. Any investment tips? I was going to put in $300 and play around with it but the minimum buy for fidelity mutual funds is 2500.

Do yall have individual stocks or what?
